:rofl2: good one, Raf. But after looking at it more I don't think the spoiler from the link I posted is the same spoiler in this thread. The angle is way steeper than Fly1 and DAR's. We may have a third alternative here. Not a duckbill but more of a ducktail style :icon17:

Any close up pics on how it lands on the deck lid and the left/right side of the hatch? The holes can be made smaller.

It was a one off custom made by that member. Not sure if he ever considered producing anymore but you can contact him and find out.

Hmmmm..I don't understand.. If money is no problem for you, then why not buy quality parts for your car. Quite frankly, I'd rather buy better quality and fitiment. Otherwise just cheapens the look of the car. I just don't see how a decent quality spoiler is $200..hey maybe it could be..JMHO...but what do I know..Lol ;)

370zBLAST 06-23-2017 07:19 PM

Sorry for the long wait, but here is mine install. Fit & funtion on point and cant complain for the money. I ended up spraying mine myself. Paint matched pretty good. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2d8cbde97d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3ee80bba3e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c645507692.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9a9238ef50.jpg

How were you able to ascertain funtion?

Zbrah 06-23-2017 08:09 PM

Looks good! I might consider it when I want to switch out my spoiler.

to me fit and function seemed pretty dead on, but then again i dont have the name brand one to go byy. But, its been on my car for a few weeks and im getting all sorts of attention with it. only down fall i wish i had the company paint it for me, to much work involved ) prep, and paint and finish lol hahah. BUT would i buy this wing again, definite hell yea!!!!

cooltoy 07-09-2017 09:02 PM

Functionality of a wing can only be measured in a wind tunnel (or maybe a computer simulation). I thought maybe you had your car tunnel tested.

Fit an appearance, I think that is what you are trying to say.

I think what cooltoy meant was how did you determine the performance difference this wing provided over what you had before. "Function on point" would imply this wing provided a performance gain over stock. For example: if you had a baseline lap time or baseline downforce measurement and then the updated results with the new wing. That would determine how you ascertained function.

Ohhhh I see. No what i meant by function on point was fitment. I guess i used a poor choice of word. Few people bashed this duckbill cause it was a cheap duckbill and thought it wasnt going to fit properly. So a few others and i bought the wing and o couldnt be even more happy with it. Fitment on point

Has anybody ordered one of the prepainted versions of this 2ing? How was the color match if so?

Also Interested!

I know I'm bringing this thread back from a while ago... I've ordered a stock sport spoiler from DAR painted in pearl white and it matched almost perfectly. The quality was great and fits spot on.

I ordered the duckbill spoiler also painted in pearl white from dar and just received it yesterday. The quality once again is great and looks like the holes will line right up with my previous ones.

They make a great product. The past 2 years I've had the spoiler on my car I've had no issues. Hope this helps for anyone who is still skeptical about the company and quality.

Silly Rabbit 12-16-2017 08:54 AM

My duckbill has been on for a year and I've had no problems. Also got them to paint pearl white and the match isn't dead on, but even the factory parts vary some. Very happy with the spoiler and the paint.

Zbrah 12-17-2017 03:35 PM

DAR is a good source. I’ve purchased spoiler from them before through EBay for my other vehicle. Was very pleased with their price and quality. Paint matched was also spot on with the factory paint code.

Louievee0413 01-03-2018 10:27 PM

I spoke too soon, I went to put the new spoiler on and the paint color was waaaayyyyy off. It was like putting your teeth up against a cob of corn difference. So I had to return it. Thinking it would be impossible to match the color I asked for a gloss black spoiler. Well I received that one and it was damaged (like literally cracked) and during manufacturing they screwed the screws in so much that it was showing from the finished side! So I need to return this one now. Nightmare. :icon14:

My first spoiler was perfect from them. Just the duckbill I guess was a hit a miss or just a bad time ordering during the holidays.. I’m not ruling them out. I’ll probably just order again in a couple of months.

Something that got damaged from shipment? Like it cracked from shipping? Shipping been terrible for me in general this holiday season. Amazon prime has been rather useless this past few weeks. My packages have been coming few days late.

installed the DAR ,take more work and time removing the glue from the old wing than installing the new wing.:shakes head:

Yeah they didn't wrap the spoiler enough in the box. It was basically just slipping around in there and it got damaged. There was another issue though from the screws that are on the backside. They tightened them so much I guess during manufacturing that there was a raised bump on the finished painted side.

Don't the grommets/holes compromise the rubber hatch seal?

batboyvaj 03-08-2018 11:03 PM

For those of you that have the dar spoiler and sport model Z, did the holes line up with the holes for the OEM sport spoiler? (bolt on with no drilling required)

loiro370z 03-09-2018 06:48 PM

Two holes line up.
you need to drill one on each side.
