If it were a 2 piece, regular maintanence wouldnt be bad, but to take off the bumper for oil changes would suck...

wonder if that's why they have that rectangular opening underneath? to facilitate oil changes? i mean...it's pretty far back there, but i dunno O_o;

azn370z 01-22-2010 05:30 PM

The metal piece behind the Bottom of the bumper is the front Jack point. I'm pretty sure you have to take off the bumper to change the oil and filter.

OMGWTFBBQ 01-22-2010 05:31 PM

I doubt that square opening does anything as far as making oil changes easier.

I honestly think that Amuse should have done what Voltex did for the s2000. Voltex made a three piece bumper (bumper, lip, splitter). That way, it could be both functional and practical at the same time. If someone were to scrape this bumper, they'd probably be crying somewhere. If you messed up the Voltex piece beyond repair, then it's as simple as just purchasing a new splitter instead of the entire thing.

Regarding oil changes, the cut out looks to be a bit small but we'll need to see want the first owners of these kits think. These should be out of production soon.

That is what I think too,.. The design is awesome, but servicing the car is too much trouble every 3k miles. Taking off the bumper that often may lead to scratches and paint chips. A three piece or removeable under belly would solve this and for replaceable parts.

Amuse debuted their new hood on Yokohama/Advan's demo car. Here are a few photos we snapped at Tokyo Salon 2012 Setup Day. We have more information and photos to come! The wheels are Advan's new Racing GTs.

pricing?? how do we order? Our cars are going to be twins minus the rims ^

370Ztune 01-13-2012 12:56 PM

I haven't gotten word on the pricing yet, but knowing Amuse expect the carbon version to be dry carbon...

370Zsteve 01-13-2012 01:42 PM

I'd venture to say that hood is a right popular item. :excited:

ccdominic 01-13-2012 01:52 PM

It's actually a white car, not silver.

Regarding the hood, for anybody seriously interested, I need to warn that this hood is full, autoclaved dry carbon (the same stuff that full on race cars are made of), so it's by no means cheap. I can provide pricing, but it's very expensive.

I'm going to try and talk with Amuse to see whether they can produce an FRP version of the hood as well. As they have never done an FRP hood in the past, it may be a total long shot, but I'll let everybody know how it goes.

ccdominic 01-17-2012 07:39 PM

Ah the low lighting got me at a quick glance. But I was talking about the body kit.

370Ztune 01-18-2012 01:31 PM

The design is not the same. The hood that VIS sells is basically a rip-off of the design from Amuse's Supperleggera 350z hood superimposed onto a 370z. The 350z design doesn't even match the original.

Additionally, why are you posting about your fake Amuse kit in our thread about the real thing?

Nissanboy 10-01-2012 10:34 PM

Must revive this thread for want of frp version of hood.... or a cheaper wet carbon style..

Amuse370z 10-02-2012 08:07 AM

The seibon one is no competition, look closely at the details of the cut outs of the vents.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...54942695_n.jpg

This is THE best hood out there.

370Ztune 10-08-2012 01:08 PM

Bump for Powerhouse Amuse in-stock!

Scribe 10-09-2012 09:50 PM

Has there been any update on a FRP or wet carbon version of the hood? Someone put a nice ding in my hood but I'm not willing to lay down 20%(!) of the price of my car for the dry carbon version.

simota1 10-09-2012 09:53 PM

i still wish i could get that hood somehow.... next year mod.... lol i wish

Scribe,

Unfortunately, Amuse has not given us any update as to an FRP or "Regular Carbon" version of their hood.

That being said, have you had the chance to check on the ones that Varis manufactures? They offer theirs in VSDC, Carbon Kevlar, Carbon, and FRP.

Thanks for responding and letting us know that Amuse is not sharing information.

The problem I have, and I suspect most have, with the Varis hood is it simply doesn't look good/is ugly. The lines don't flow with the strakes on the hood, the vents turn out awkwardly and are proportionately too small. The vents just look tacked on without any consideration for how they look with the rest of the car. Here's what I mean:
http://bespoke-public-product-images...da_800x828.jpg
Compare that with the Amuse hood, where the lines flow down the strakes and take up more of the hood and it's no contest.

Hmmmm.....I kinda think the Varis looks pretty good:

They both look very good. Just not everybody have the same kind of taste.
