My new burger replacement

I thought I'd share a couple of pictures of my first Mod.

I've been working on this for a while. Soon I will have a white glow on the front too.

I hope you like them :)

NYBladeZ 11-20-2009 10:31 AM

I like! I'm in the market for new emblems, where can I get these and how much?

theDreamer 11-20-2009 10:32 AM

It looks like the side markers from the car.

Paul_S 11-20-2009 10:37 AM

Yes, I bought some side emblems and made these up using the old burgers. Quite a lot of work but unique (I think!)

vipor 11-20-2009 11:03 AM

take that and the brake light conv for the asshole and you now have FIVE brake lights wewt..... :ugh2:

phelan 11-20-2009 11:42 AM

too many lights on the back imo, but would look really good painted!

cptspeed 11-20-2009 03:12 PM

I like the debadged look myself. Always have.

I'm in the UK so my fog light has to stay! I've wired it into the side lights. When I get the front one done I like the idea of a glowing white Z getting bigger in people's rear view mirror :icon17:

Paul_S 11-21-2009 05:51 AM

Here is a picture of the front. I think it looks better than the rear (but I don't know why!)

http://forums.nissansportz.com/uploa...5_77_51829.jpg

I've not wired it into the loom yet.

Minicobra1 11-21-2009 01:12 PM

Interesting, nice work

cptspeed 11-21-2009 01:19 PM

Yes it does look better in the front.

Eric 11-21-2009 01:30 PM

Why do you keep calling the emblem a burger???

It's clearly a CHEESEBURGER!

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20...eeseburger.jpg

Sorry, bad joke. lol

frost 11-21-2009 01:41 PM

Good job I think.

SpawnAeroJohn 11-21-2009 01:41 PM

I must be the only one that likes the burger.

I don't like the Z replacement any better than the Nissan-burger. I'd rather it be clean, but as others have pointed out, would be a PITA because of the indentation.

Ya you'd have to use body filler or something, uh-uh.............

You'd never see a Porsche de-badged. Seems to be a BMW/Benz thing. My take? Lots of Beemer owners out there that want to pretend they have the hot ride rather than the POS they actually own.

Maybe it's because I saw Datsun/Nissan just OWN these classes back in the 80's/90's at Lime Rock and Watkins Glen. I'll proudly wear the burger!

I decided to spray the old (cheese!) burger silver to match the silver rim on the Z badge. My backup plan was to spray them black if I didn't do a good enough job shaping and smoothing them down. Obviously being home made I couldn't make them look CF!

I don't have a problem with the Nissan badge apart from the fact that it's chrome and all the other badges, door handles, etc. on the car are not :)

cptspeed 11-22-2009 09:42 AM

werd.

phelan 11-22-2009 12:46 PM

black out the nissan burger??

Funny though that Porsche is one of the few companies I know that actualy offers a "Badge Delete" option...

I did!......(but it was Boxster which some don't think is a "Real" Porsch anyway)...HA!...:-)

I agree...The satin silver is a much better aesthetic match to the other parts..

YA I should have prefaced that with "you'll never see a debadged Porsche in the USA!" Except for Mod's! :tiphat:

Eeewwwww! No ordering off the Value Menu!....;)

Zerafian 11-22-2009 10:08 PM

I like there to be no "burger" at all...its kinda neat though.

ducky 11-23-2009 03:16 PM

nicely done paul..funny how the old Z emblem looks better on the New Z...

1slow370 11-25-2009 02:55 PM

My vote is for the regular old nissan emblem. I liked it so much i bought a plate frame that had them in the lower corners and milled out the background of it to reveal my stickers.

Edit: thats on the back I want to delete my front plate but round here Smokey uses that as a way to pull anyone over for a quick breathalyzer, car search, and $180 dollar fine.

Paul_S 12-07-2009 08:44 AM

I finally got the front one done the other day :)

Thanks! I made them myself using the old Nissan emblem, a side emblem, LED lights, some filler, paint, etc.
