Intelligent Key Fob Not Working
 

Hey guys I need some help. I was working on my 370 and disconnected the negative terminal of the battery. I left my key fob inside the car overnight in the garage and the battery was disconnected all night as well. When I went in to work on it in the morning, I plugged the negative terminal of the battery back in and tried to lock the car with the remote but it wouldn't lock. The key wouldn't get registered by the car, and all it said was "No Key" on the screen to the left of the speedo.

I replaced the battery in the remote, but it still is not getting recognized. The only way to start the car is to put the fob into the port on the left side of the steering wheel.

What could be the issue? The fob was working perfectly fine before so I'm stumped. I checked the fuse box inside the car, and fuse box 3 inside the engine.

It's a 2012 370Z.

Did you get the right battery? And put it back in correctly? This literally happened to me a week ago as well. I bought some from OSH and they were brand new but my fob wouldn't work. For a second, I thought I needed to replace my key fob but I decided to buy batteries from Walgreens and it worked again. Maybe you bought faulty batteries like me. Give it a try IMO. Keep us updated..

Thanks for the reply! I ended up having inserted the battery into the remote facing the wrong way. My other car key fob used to take the batteries in that way, so I thought they were all inserted the same way lol. I flipped the battery around and it works! There is also an illustration on the inside of the fob above the battery that I noticed, and it shows you how the battery goes in, Negative side facing up.:tup::happydance::rofl2:

lol.. those button batteries are kind of hard to tell its polarity.

i use a voltmeter to check whether the battery is good or not. might save you a trip to the store.

LOL, glad that all is well. I was going crazy because I had it in correctly with the right battery but mine wouldn't work. Lesson learned to never buy batteries from OSH haha.

Haha yea I didn't pay attention to the polarity at first but someone mentioned it to me.

I also checked the battery with a voltmeter, but the original one was dead. The new one showed 3 volts but I didn't stop to think I had it in there incorrectly lol.

Definitely! I was heading to the worst case scenario but thankfully it was something very simple.

Hi everybody,
I have the same problem. I changed the batteries by Duracell brand but can't open the doors with key fob. The keys did not work properly at first then they stop working. Do you know if these are the fuses ? Do you know what fuse I need to check for key fob ?

Hey i am having the same problem with a 2010 370z. the car does not recognize the fobs.
I replaced batteries and also went to Nissian and they changed them as well.
Has anyone had this issue?

Nissan said i would have to have to get new fobs and reprogram them.
This costs about $700.00
But i the fobs work sometimes.
