OEM front bumper replacement

After dealing with the front bumper paint peeling issues for over a year, getting a new OEM bumper from Nissan which I will take to a good local shop to repaint. I tend to trust this shop, they've matched paint for me before and I know they will do as good of a job as anyone else.

I will then switch parts over everything from the current bumper - lights, clips, sports package chin and so forth. Has anyone done this before, anything to be aware of? I am comfortable taking the front bumper off, so that will not be an issue. Worried about the paint match, this being pearl white, and fitment of a replacement bumper. I know it will be a gamble, but paint on my current bumper kept peeling.

The only thing I can think of is the PW is extremely difficult to match. I'm not sure how good of a match you can expect if you just give them the bumper and they cannot use your hood and front fenders for color match reference :twocents:

Sorry, I should have made that clear, I will give him the entire car to match the paint. This is the weekend toy, so really, I told him to keep it until he is happy with the result. Once that is done, clear bra will be re applied on the front bumper like I have on the rest of the car.

I replaced my standard bumper with a NISMO bumper. Swapping parts was a piece of cake and everything matched up perfectly. The NISMO cover was black cherry when I bought it and I had it paint matched to pearl white. The painter had a book and it had a couple different samples in it for the paint code. We matched it up to the hood and fenders as best we could. The end result is very good. Not perfect, but if you didn't know to look for it, you probably wouldn't even notice. I think it matches better than the stock mud guards. In dim light, I can tell a slight difference. I think it is in the clear, it seems to be heavier and gives it a slightly different look than the hood. If your shop knows what they are doing, it should end up good.

Sweet, that is encouraging and your car looks SWEET! I know there will be a slight paint color mis match, but as you said, mud guards and even rear bumper, if you know where/what to look for you can tell the difference. I will clear bra after it gets painted, so that will hide the bumper some more anyways.
