HID Bulbs

I did utilize the "Search" button and found a ton of info., however, the threads never really concluded as to how everything turned out.

I want to swap out my bulbs, but am reading about stories where the bulbs may either:

1. light up for a few minutes and then shut off and/or flicker.
2. won't light up at all.

But then when they put the stock bulbs back in, everything works like normal. And then I'm also reading that our ballasts don't like aftermarket bulbs, including the ones that the sponsors offer.

What bulbs are people running that are not causing any issues and are compatible with our ballasts? I'm looking at the 6000K temp. and was debating ordering from either iJDMToy or diode dynamics.

Swap to a clear lens before you insist on losing lumen output for "sweet blue lights."

It's interesting you point out stock ballasts not liking some bulbs. Stick to the normal, decent quality 35w bulbs and you shouldn't have any issues.

the 6000K bulbs i swapped aren't "sweet blue", but rather a bright white.

and i was only pointing out what many others have stated prior. luckily, the bulbs i installed don't flicker nor shut off randomly.

I think I read that the factory ballast in early models is pretty finicky about which bulbs you use but that this was fixed in the later models. If that is true, you may be able to find some salvaged late-model ballasts for a reasonable price.

I've found that using one of the major search engines and adding "site:the370z.com" to the search string will yield better results than using the site's search feature. Eg, "ballast site:the370z.com"

i do notice that with the higher-end bulbs, when you turn them on, they ignite full blast and no "warming up" period, whereas the cheaper bulbs turn on and then take a few seconds to be fully bright.

either way, i'm happy with the bulbs i bought and no issues whatsoever.
