Open Door / Window Roll-down Issue
Does anyone else have this problem?
Twice now in the last couple weeks, once on each side, I have opened the door and the window has not inched down like it usually does. I'm wondering if I have a problem starting or if this is common. |
Try window reset procedure. At least that would be my starting point. It's super easy. It's posted in several dozen threads here. Not to mention the owner's manual.

Worth a try for sure.

I know this is an issue with windows not rolling up. You had the issue of it not automatically cracking open? |

if you unhooked the battery it could have reset the ECU to not do it... also might affect your fob settings (honk/blinkers flashing etc)

There is a lock out screw in the door jamb. Try adjusting it. My window tint guy used it to keep the windows up when he did my tint.

I don't think I've ever had that happen... I'm interested to see what the solution is though.

In my case the windows occasionally would not roll us after I open the door then close it. If j opened the door again and closed it it would be fine. Reset procedure didn't do anything so eventually I just bought a new sensor/switch for the door and it solved it.

I replaced the part the door closes on and that reads closed or open.

Fixed! I tightened the screw holding the sensor switch while pressing it it down. All is good now, window is functioning like before!:happydance:

Well now this morning the passenger side window cracked like it's suppose to, but then didn't go back up. After opening and closing again, it went back. Not digging this.

So, what ever happened with this?
I'm pretty sure mine did this yesterday again, which would make twice now. Here's what I think is happening 1. Open door, window doesn't go down like it's supposed to 2. Close door, and don't hear the "zppp" noise or see the window go up 3. Go "wtf" and open door again, and the window goes down. I know the window probably doesn't seal right without the window being down & going back up after you shut the door, but I'm concerned there is an interference issue between the top of the window and the car body, is that the case? I hope not. I don't see any damage. I pressed and released the little switch in the door jamb that senses whether the door is closed about 20 times and the window went up and down as expected. :ugh: |

Appreciate the response!
I did do the reset after it happened yesterday. I was just out in the garage, opening and closing my door like an obsessive-complusive maniac about 25 or 30 times and could not make it happen. Hopefully the neighbors didn't see it... "WTF is wrong with Davey, he's finally lost it." :ugh: Then I really tried to make it happen, by opening it slowly, only opening it part way and "bouncing" it off the little jamb switch/spring etc. and I CANNOT make it happen. I also thoroughly checked the roof (with my glasses off and an LED flashlight, that's serious stuff!) and I see zero damage. But I *know* I did not see or hear the window go up, it sounded... Ugly... and when I opened the door again, the window went down, to the normal amount it goes down. Maddening when intermittent stuff like this happens. |
Even nuttier that Nissan doesn't see it as a design flaw, just how it is.

Yesterday, I had the same issue after disconnecting the battery but with the help of this great forum, i fixed the issue myself.. (this was the 2nd time I made the fix)
