DashCommand with Pioneer AppRadio 4 - virtual dashboard OBD2 data monitoring

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all,

Just thought I'd show the results of my labor toward getting an in-car virtual dashboard with interactive real-time data monitoring. Don't we all love gauges? :driving:

I'm using DashCommand ($9.99) with my iPhone 6 and a gopoint BT1.

The AppRadio has it's good (lots to customize) and bad (clunky interchange between AppRadio and Apple CarPlay modes that requires switching physical connection to your phone), but overall I'm pleased.

See the video for an example of how the DashCommand software works. You can also get more skins via DashXL.net. There are some cool looking LFA and GT-R style layouts.

One bit of help from you all - any suggestions on how to mount my iPhone? I've not been satisfied with any commercial phone mounts so far - I want it to be located directly to the right of the AppRadio screen, pointed toward the driver. Slim-profile mounts to keep things clean is a must.

Thanks and enjoy!

I have a Proclip mount for a Garmin GPS unit that mounts to the right of my radio. There are threads elsewhere on the forum. You can get one for the IPhone.

Here's a link to what I have. You'd just have to get the right 'ball'.

I also run a Garmin vent clip to hold an LG smartphone that communicates by BT to a Valentine 1 detector. I run an app called YAV1 on the LG for the V1.
You can simply Google 'Garmin vent clip'. I modified it a bit with a file to 'clean up' the fit a little better. I originally wanted to put the GPS on the vent clip but I thought the unit was too heavy and I figured the vent clip would mess up the edge of the vent bouncing around. The way I have it I can also mount the LG to the Proclip mount. I have a 'Garmin' ball on the Proclip mount.

Does your OBD use bluetooth to communicate with your IPhone?
If so, I suppose I could run DashCommand on the LG too.

Sorry. I just reread your post. I'll look for the Gopoint BT1.

I also didn't state how I adapt the LG to the Garmin ball mount. My LG is dedicated so I wasn't concerned about attaching the LG to the interface I have. Here's a link to that. (Garmin vent clip to backside of LG)

I am not sure if they have what you are looking for in a phone mount but check Ram mounts. You might get lucky.
