Seat belt removal and Install

I am no way liable for anyone messing anything up and only doing this as the process i took to change my belts :roflpuke2:

OK so you will need a 14mm socket and a 10mm socket , Phillips screw driver plus a pry tool

Total time i would say 1.5 hr to 2 hr depending on skill

If you have removed rear speakers you have already done about 3/4 of the work already

Here is the start point
http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S...8_103126-L.jpg

Remove all 4 pins on both sides

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S...8_103229-L.jpg

After you can pop the rear section off

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S...8_103349-L.jpg

Remove carpet and floor , once you do that you can pop these pieces off

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S...8_105006-L.jpg

Remove these 10mm bolts located in these holes 1per side of car

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S...8_105248-L.jpg

Now move to the front and remove these carpet panels , they are a bitch but will pop up

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S...8_105849-L.jpg

Remove the 4 clips that are toward the front of the car 2 per side

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S..._110129-XL.jpg

Remove 2 screws with a Phillips screw driver 1 per side

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S...8_105936-L.jpg

Now take off the panels and the plastic on the strut bar slides out

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S...8_105904-L.jpg

Remove Door Kick panels they just pry up and side panels where speakers go

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S...8_110246-L.jpg

Now you can wiggle this part out and remove , it slides backwards and when putting back together this should be the first part installed

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S..._111111-XL.jpg

These are a little hard to take out and i take no responsibility of damage to the plug or belts
I removed them by prying with a flat head , to reinstall them on new belts they are also a bitch and need a little force and wiggle at the same time

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S...8_112050-L.jpg

Now remove the top 10mm

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S...8_112214-L.jpg

And bottom 14mm

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S...8_112224-L.jpg

Get the cover off the top and remove the 14mm also

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S...8_112356-L.jpg

Last 14mm is at the bottom

http://zmanelite.smugmug.com/Other/S...8_112443-L.jpg

Now all you have to do is remove belts and replace with new ones , reverse the process and you are good to go

Sweet!

370Z JT 07-08-2015 03:54 PM

Will the dye potentially rub off? Stain clothing?

zmanelite 07-08-2015 03:56 PM

Dont think so as the web is made that color so its not just like the stock ones got dyed

370zmaxima 07-08-2015 08:01 PM

Is the quality the same as the original belt?

Thanks
Darel

It's number 12 Orange
This orange is more like a HI Vis or neon orange so it's bright

This is the correct way, I disconnected my steering wheel airbag when I replaced my steering wheel using this method. :iagree:

Yeah definitely pry at where the picture shows, on the side of that little box towards the wiring. I was prying at the other side because it was easier to get my tool at it but it was not wanting to go up, as soon as I went to the other side it was like 1 second POP, and it came off with ease.

Repped. Thanks for sharing.
