After only a few weeks I can see that this front bumper area is going to be a problem with chips :( Of course it's my DD but a chip magnet for sure :( Any commentary on what how this holds over in the long run.... 5, 6, 7 years? |
Xpell ultimate carries a 10 year warranty against, yellowing, cracking, peeling, staining, and hazing, and reimburses both film and labor in the unlikely event of a failure.

XPEL ULTIMATE Paint Protection Film requires less maintenance than any other brand of film on the market. Our general care instructions are:
"Can I wax the film when I wax the rest of the car?" Unlike most paint protection films on the market, XPEL ULTIMATE Paint Protection film can be waxed and sealed just like your paint. Though XPEL Flawless Finish Paint Protection Film Sealant is still the preferred product, Any automotive wax or sealant may be used. |

I'll get some of the Xpel stuff too. My installer was real low key when it comes to pushing his product; he had the Flawless finish material right on the shelf and told me about Maguire's liquid wax at Walmart instead. I'd prefer to have the 3M just to keep it all in the same family of product.

I just bought some of this for my first track day , can't wait to try it out. on another note. do you have any custom rolls? i want to do the entire hood of my 2014 dodge viper but do not want seams. dirt catchers is what i call them. anyway to get a roll that will cover that much area without the need for seams? |

Unfortunately no, the biggest width it comes in is 18" |

I put Xpel Ultimate on my car. The car is red. I did the front bumper, 1/3 of the hood and fenders, the A-pillars, 1/3 of the top and the lower front area of the quarter panels. Basically, all the high impact surfaces. Yes, there is a line on hood and roof, but I challenge anyone to find it from six feet away. It's nice to be able to scrub the bug guts off my bumper and front of hood without worrying about jacking up the paint. If you're a paint freak like me, it's essential, and spend the extra money to get the good stuff. If I was doing it over again, I would do the entire hood though.

Yeah because the fenders are part of the hood its way more than 60". This is why I chose the temporary vs full even though I'd prefer the full. Oh well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Xpel, check your pm's.

ah, gotta get these chips professionally repaired, I think, then I'll consider the Xpel.

Thanks for the info, if I had stripes the seams would blend into them but I do not. I will probably still go this route just to protect the finish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
