Can somebody with the Fujimura diffuser please clarify something for me? Does it get installed by gluing and screwing it on top of the original factory diffuser? If so, does it effectively destroy the original diffuser, assuming that the adhesive is not removable? If that is the case, I think I might experiment with coating my original with Plasti-Dip or vinyl wrap, since both are cheap and can be undone. If I like the look, I'll upgrayyyeeed to the Fujimura.

No glue! You can use silicone but in this case it's only attached with 3M double sided tape and possibly a couple of screws to secure the fujimura diffuser over your oem bumper. Similar to installing side blades or other aftermarket lips to your car. It's not permanently attached.

Thanks for the explanation. In that case, if I don't like it, I can always resell it and probably be out less money than if I had paid for a vinyl wrap.

I used the VHB double sided tape, doubled up on top and down the curves to the side, also used the screws that came with the diffuser.

Installed my diffuser yesterday. Used the VHB tape as recommended. After installation using the supplied hardware, I wasn't fully satisfied with the flushness of the fit along the top edge near each end. Decided to raise the car and drop the muffler to allow access to where the diffuser curves to accommodate the exhaust tips. While underneath the car (and with my significant other pushing the diffuser inward along the curved portion as hard as she could), I drilled a 3/16" hole through the apex of the curved portion of the diffuser and through the overlying piece of the plastic bumper (see pic), slipped in a 10-24 1" stainless-steel stove bolt, installed a washer and nut and tightened it down. Repeated the process on the other side. Re-installed the muffler and dropped the car back down. Took about an hour of time. The diffuser is now flush and as tight as a drum. It won't be coming off any time soon! The stove bolt is not visible from the rear (unless you're on your hands and knees LOL). Caution: If you plan to do this, make sure the car is fully supported before getting underneath it.

Where did you order the Diffuser from? I bought mine off Japanparts almost a month ago an I'm yet to receive any shipping info. Does it usually take this long buying the Fujimura from this site?

I ordered it from RHD Japan. Took about 6 weeks to arrive. No issues. They were good about keeping you posted as to the status of the order.

Just got mines in from RHD Japan as well. Order date was the 13th, arrived today on the 20th. They apparently had the FRP version stocked.
RHD Japan is quite good on keeping you updated through their website like the above member just said.
There's various pics available already but it doesn't hurt to put more.

I ordered my carbon fiber one on the 18th. Curious to see when I get it. Just need it before April 3rd...

Depends on where you ordered from. I bought mine from japanparts and after checking my order status, I was given an estimated time of 2 months. It's been a month since I ordered. I think you should be ok and will receive yours before April for sure.

Ordered from RHDJapan. Says stock was confirmed

speedfreek 01-21-2016 12:38 PM

For anyone interested I have one brand new in box for sale with the 3M VHB tape. In case you don't want to wait for it to ship from Japan.

Unfortunately I already ordered mine from Japanparts, but had I known it was gonna take over 2 months to get it delivered, I would have ordered from RHD :shakes head:

Just ordered mine!
Is that the strongest tape to use?
And how hard was the install? (Any issues with placing it and it sticking incorrectly?)

1st 06-05-2016 07:54 PM

Install is cake, The only advice I can really give is place the double sided tape lower then the lip and not so close to the edge so it's not visible when you attach the diffuser to the car.
