Illuminated Kick Plates: Couple Q's

Stupid question first, kick plates are the same for the base/touring and Nismo, right?

Where is the best place to buy these? Ebay has them for $143 "but it now".

Anyone priced out how much for a shop/dealer to install them? I saw the DIY on it, and it might be above my level of mechanical ability.

yes they fit all the base touring and nismo models.... i bought them off ebay for a hundred  but 143 is the price ul get them everywhere for and as for installing them.. have a lil more faith in urself its really easy man... :happydance:

Just did my own little homework, so I figured I"d pass it on.

$112 to install. Dealer wants $170 to order them!!!

You think it's definitely not worth the $112 to install? Installation on par with the difficulty of installing custom audio stuff or easier?

Is there a thread on forum that has a DYI for kick plates? I didn't see one.

A friend and me installed mine this past weekend in about an hour, install is super easy. I figured I would need him to do wiring, but it is all pre-wired already and pretty much all you have to do pull the old out and plug the new in. Plus route the wires.

Another Q:

To all who have Illuminated kickplates....are they getting all scratched with normal use?

simota1 11-18-2009 09:45 AM

sup steve.... ummm mine are fine no scratches or wat so ever.... but i do however always not step on the door sill on purpose..... like i just step over the door sills all the time i get in.... and mostly everyone who rides with me does the same :D

phelan 11-18-2009 10:57 AM

i have no scratches, but i tend to swing over the door sills haha

and installation was a cakewalk. and mind you, i was hella buzzed when i did it :rofl2:

my car came with it from the dealer... thought it was kinda corny but my kids loved it so oh well. i prefer the non-lit brushed aluminum look but again, oh well. too lazy to replace it.

Mine haven't been scratched that I've noticed.

theDreamer 11-18-2009 01:58 PM

Mine have not been scratched but they are never touched other than by the door opening/closing.
