Recommendations for Anti Theft License Plate Screws

Hi guys,

Currently looking for some anti theft license plate screws and was wondering if you all have any recs with ones you've used before or opinions about these two that I am looking at:

Plate Safe for $25

Cheaper Anti Theft SS Screws for about $13

Do you guys think it is worth the money to pay more for these screws or do screws that are cheaper (saw some $5 ones) work just as well?

Thanks.

i think these will work...they're the bolts for the steering lock mech

here's the thing, nothing is 100% theft proof. if someone wants *your* plate they will get it. the idea is basically to make your plate less attractive/more annoying than the one next to you.

with that in mind either of the solutions would work, since it's not a common tool that your average vandal/thief would have with them. if they are part of a license plate stealing ring (if such a thing exists) then they probably would have the tool handy, since both the expensive and cheap option seem to rely on the same two-pronged screwdriver.

anyway, that aside, i think the $25 is more aesthetically pleasing given it's brushed finish compared to the cheap chrome finish of the other.

that's my :twocents:

dang, ive had metal valve caps stolen, but never had my plates stolen.. :icon17:

the top one looks good. that almost looks like my key for my free-spinning valve stems might work. :D
but do realize if the size of the screw heads are big enough, thin needle nose plies will remove them using those 2 holes.. :ugh:

I have tools for all of those vandal-resistant screws.

The two-hole ones are common in psych wards to prevent access to supply/exhaust ducts. Ask me how I know :ugh: ;)
