All Carbon Fiber 370Z Body - Ideas and Suggestions
Hey guys, my name is Mike and I work for Blackline Motorsports. You can check out Mike@Blackline over at my350z to see where we stand in the 350 community; good products, service, respect on the boards, and itrader rating. Ya'll may have seen the relatively new Alliance BBKs, and as a lot of you probably know, they are developing them right now for the 370z and G37. One of the members here is going to be the first to install them, along with a G37 guy. Click the link in my sig!
We will become a vendor on here the day the 370Z BBK is finished, so no worries there admins :) All that aside, Alliance is developing an all carbon fiber body for the 350Z right now, and the 370Z will next. The 350's will be all OEM, with the exception of possibly the front bumper, but with shaved holes and rear wiperblade, and the Z badges on the fenders will be eliminated. The only panel that will not be replaced will be the roof; an overlay is planned. Yes, full rear quarterpanels are planned, not overlays  ;) When they get around to the 370, I want to have some feedback ready from you guys for their development. What would you like to see? Shaved or with emblem holes? Eliminate the fender Z badge? Flare the fenders any mm size or keep OEM specs? Make a smooth hood or OEM? Spoiler thoughts? For the time being, the plan on bumpers is to replicate Nismo ones  I understand that right now I dont have anything to show you in terms of their quality, but that will all be discussed and showcased when the 350z CF project is complete and shared here. So what would you guys like to see in the designs? Discuss! |
bump?

Replicate the OEM stuff first imo. I know some people are for the "clean" look but I like having my badges on. Fenders I might go for doing away with though. Dunno, not much thought right now.

OEM, maybe do the doors without the big handles

good feedback! |
Sell them shaved with the SPAL kit!!!
Also I would expand the front fenders 15mm each and the rears 25mm each :D On the fronts I would like to see some sort of venting! Here are a few Ideas I came up with or modified originals: All CF Nismo with front canards and CF C Pillars (btw the C pillars are 1 piece of plastic and an easy replicable part ;) ) http://www.the370z.com/members/bulli...pecnurver2.jpg AMUSE Meets Du-Luck!!! http://www.the370z.com/members/bulli...0zdoluckwb.jpg AMUSE Wide Body (super Legga) http://www.the370z.com/members/bulli...superlegga.jpg Everyone loves this flared Widebody http://www.the370z.com/members/bulli...lver370zwb.jpg Someone else's version of a APR Widebody http://www.the370z.com/members/bulli...design370z.jpg I have more I just need to find them ;) |

Ohhh BTW here is what GTR handles would look like:
http://www.the370z.com/members/bulli...70zcloseup.jpg I tried doing them straight but it didnt flow with the lines of the car so you will need to angle them ;) |
I did a rendition of the Jon Sibal Widebody and was working with a vendor to create it but that was put on hold! I have the free hands but I would have to fax them or scan them for you.

^ huge vents are HUUUUUGE.
GTR handles to me are overrated, I'd much rather see it clean. I may be the only one like that, though, but I like the TVR system of pressing a hidden button to open the door :p |

 BTW. which vents are you talking about? |
what about some kind of diffuser, like the voltex style diffuser for the 350z, but for the 370z, "of course" that is functional for us track guys...and gals
|
i love how the carbon fiber on the blue photoshop peeks out on the top of the fenders then fades to blue in the front!
|
Yeah, I wouldn't be down for all those vents and crazy designs, The fronts could be wider but I wouldn't want much since I DD my car and I hate the nismo look, especially on the rear bumper. I would like an OEM replication first and then go from there. I also like my door handles because they work and poppers are gay.
