still looking for a good off the shelf roll bar for a 6 point harness setup, looks like the trackart roll cage and the autopower ones are the popular ones. but this thread seems to have different opinions about them.

since I'm not going full race mode, just looking for a bar that can
1. mount 6 point harness
2. wont kill me if i dont wear a helmet (if im driving on the street)

I think I am going to pass. I am going to go the route of a full roll cage IF I do this. Custom quality cages are not cheap.

I will start keeping up with installs we've done and as clients/dealers of our's have completed their installs of our cages.

Well chit, the wifey says I have to get one. I am debating the 5 point RPM rollbar or the 6 point. I am leaning toward the 6 point. Just be done with it.

Get the 6 point with the removable sides.

Up your life insurance policy, then wifey won't care if you don't have a cage.

I don't care to be buried with a rollbar in my coffin. LOL

The guys at RPMrollbar recommended only the 6 point for me. 4 or 5 point is just not enough. Talked with them today. I would be certified for a 9.99 at NHRA drag strips. Anything higher and it is a full cage.

Spooler 11-25-2019 05:57 PM

Here lies the problem. If my car is faster than a 9.99 at a NHRA track I will be kicked off even with the 6 point. I will need an 8 point to be certified to go faster. Which means a full cage. Justin's car ran a 9.91.

JARblue 11-25-2019 08:18 PM

Well, I guess you only need to run it once, right?

If you want to keep it dual purpose then RPM is the way to go and if all racecar then full cage is the only way to go!

No certification.
From thier website.
NASA, NHRA, & SCCA rules followed extensively as guidelines, but we do not guarantee certifications in any way.

Nothing, Lance makes an excellent roll bar! I think he told me that he can make his a 6 point as well. I just found out that RPM 6 point system will not work with my Sparco front seat. RPM 6 point is meant to meet oem specs.
