Okay, so I finally get to take my Z out of the garage and within a few days I discovered this.

Any repair advice?

I had that, i popped it out from the inside of the bumper with a long screwdriver, it will go right back to its original shape in a while.

About paint, well i never repainted.

:iagree: Paintless Dent Repair. Take it to a professional... not expensive

Being that I'm from Texas, nope. Just google paintless dent repair. I'm sure there are a few to choose from. Research reviews for places you're considering. Or post your question in the Chicago region forum.

What area of Chicago are you in, I'm located a bit south in the Aurora/Naperville area and ended up having a good repair done at "Service King" came out looking great with no complaints (Other than a fingerprint on my windshield)

I would recommend a PDR specialist. I don't believe Service King specializes in PDR. They may or may not have someone in house that does the work, and if they do, I bet he doesn't just do PDR all day. If they don't, they're just farming it out to the local guy for a higher price than you would probably pay him directly. FWIW, the Service King I used in Austin did a decent repair job on our old Honda when my wife got into an accident. But after I was done inspecting the repairs under the hood, the idiot dented my brand new hood closing it improperly.

They wanted to repair it, but I told them to fvck off and had insurance cover a PDR specialist. He got like $125 from insurance to fix the hood, and he offered to fix a half dozen other minor dings and dents for an extra $75. I was very pleased with the work.

That's always good to know a good experience with a specific shop. It's the people at the shop, not the brand anyway. I might call them and ask about PDR generally. Without saying or implying that you have a vehicle that needs repair, ask if they have someone in house (and how long they've been doing it) or who they use.

I'm not trying to imply that Service King is incapable of repairing it properly. But I would want to know ahead of time that they are capable, and I would make sure they are aware of my expectations of perfection. You want to make sure you've got someone touching it that knows exactly what they're doing.

Maybe I'm wrong (and maybe resident PDR-trained Kenchan can chime in), but I look at the big dent and think it's more difficult than a small door ding. I know that multiple dents in one location makes it much more difficult to fix, and often that is exactly what happens when someone that doesn't know what they are doing tries to fix a single dent. This is why I would look for a PDR specialist.

Just my :twocents:

I'm in Glendale Heights/Carol Stream. So Naperville isn't too far from me. But I'd be willing to go just about anywhere to get a quality repair.

I tried the dealer, but they said their guy only repairs metal dents.
