Car Cover - Thin Ployster Material
 

Does anyone have experience whether this material is good? I am looking for something light weight and won't scratch the paint. It will be used mostly indoor and I am in SOCAL. I have another fabric material cover that is good, but a bit bulky comparing to this SilverGuard cover which is just one thin durable layer. Thanks.

i use the quicksilver on my z. it's outdoor/indoor cover but i only use it during hibernation in my garage. so far i like it a lot. it was only like 150 shipped, light weight, easy to fold into its bag. i like it more than my noah dustcover i have for my g.

he's in socal and uses a car cover routinely on his 350z.

yeah.. it does look similar and for sure with the same one layer polyester material. How is your cover holding up and if it is safe for the paint finish?

Still looks new and no issues with paint.

But I only use it inside the garage so don't know how well outdoors..

That's pretty expensive... I've gone through several car covers over a range of cars in the past decade, ranging from dirt cheap to a bit pricey.

As far as I can discern, the major difference seems to be the likelihood of ripping or stretching (and thus blowing away on a windy day).

If you have money to burn, go for it, but one for less than half can likely be found that will do the job adequately enough.

After a certain point, you have to ask: Do I really need to spend another $50 just to have sections tailored for the mirrors?

For 200+ bucks, I want a car cover to leap up and cocoon the vehicle on command.

I bought the Z1 cover. Perfect fit and well worth the $200

My '09 is garaged at night and during the day has a Covercraft Weathershield custom fit cover. My concern was sun and dust protection and I have been very pleased and people still comment how good my car looks. They are not cheap but have a good multi-year warranty. Keep you car well waxed, use a California duster if it does have a little dust on it before you put the cover on and don't use the cover when the car is dirty. I have had 3 Covercraft covers over the years and will buy from them again. Their site compares the features of the different materials they offer, they all have different characteristics depending on what you want out of the cover.
