I know its asking alot, but do you think you guys could do a straight x-pipe for dyno and sound clip? and if it sounds the way I am looking for I would take that one off ya...

I ordered the straight x pipe so far I'm the only one I will also be doing a review of it when I get the exhaust.

Looking forward to review/pics(vids?)/dyno?

nightfire 07-24-2009 12:39 PM

I'm also curious how loud the x pipe is. Especially if it's teamed up with HFC's or even test pipes.

simota1 07-24-2009 06:42 PM

jus a quick question guys ummm sooo does this set up produce more hp than the stillen set up? like hfc from berk and full cat back from stillen? whats the gains on the stillen catback only?

tonmed123 07-24-2009 07:33 PM

What does having X pipes offer to performance and sound from the original design?

The stillen CBE with Berk HFC netted +37.7 RWHP, roughly. I say "roughly" because the baseline wasn't done on this specific car but an identical one (stock). Also I think there was a time period between the dyno baseline and the dyno with mods. The gain was with stock intakes, but was in the south east so temperatures would have been substantially cooler (also wasn't in the summer).

From what I gathered the FI exhaust netted +23RWHP from HFC and their CBE. However theirs was done on the same day, not weeks apart. Theirs was also tested in substantially hotter weather.

I suspect that if we see guys with the FI setups post up their before and after dynos you'll see the numbers will be probably pretty close to that of the Stillen setup. I don't see how, by design (but i'm no expert), the FI exhaust wouldn't produce the same power levels of say the Stillen.

o ok thanks man for the heads up..... ill do more research on that one... but im guessing those aspects played a role in the out come of the dyno...

Togo 07-25-2009 03:19 PM

Oh I'm sure those factors came into play. If i had to guess the FI and Berk Exhausts were dynoed in temperatures that were maybe +50 degrees more than that of the Stillen. (The Stillen info most of us have are from Semtex's result and testing and can be found in his journal.)

I don't want to get too off topic in this thread since it isn't the place for it but yeah....

Props to F.I. for this exhaust, can't wait to see your tunnel video, and video of the straight X pipe!!!! :happydance:

kdo2milger 07-26-2009 01:30 PM

alright wakeup Tony, wheres the tunnel video?!?

It's incredible that people actually still believe the dyno numbers from that. No way the stillen makes that much with a y pipe. The dyno needs to be done on THE SAME car stock, then put the stillen on and dyno. Which is exactly what F.I. has done which is WAY more credible results.

Are you in northern or southern Cali? I'm in Phoenix and I'm wondering is there any kind of special deal to buy the parts from you and have you install them or no? Cause if it's worth it, I'll just bring the car to you... lol Once I have it haha.

We are located in Southern California and if you drive in for installation, it is free!

XwChriswX 07-31-2009 01:09 AM

That sounds like money right there...

Score one for the good guys!

I know this will prolly be a big undertaking, and dunno if it will be worth it, but is it possible, or do you forsee in the not so distant future, the ability to have Dyno/driving/idle vids of both the SS and CF exhaust in both 12" and 18" resonator types? (Essentially 4 vids all together?) For comparrison to find your particular note?

I am sure it will be done eventually. Unfortunately we are so busy, it will not be done on our end...

Thanks, Tony

Thanks, Tony

We are getting the RTP's/CBE 18"/CF Mufflers and plan on doing similar video. As we are in Aus it will be a little while before we get ours installed;). It might be possible soon enough to add-edit the videos, with extras as long as Tony is happy with that.

Cant wait:tup:

I recommend onlt the Stillen Gen III intakes!

All of the dyno runs we did were with stock intakes!

From where you are in AZ it shouldn't take more than 6-7 hours!

Hey Tony,
The only question i have left for you before you send me the billing info is:
I like the look of the CF mufflers, but im worried that they wont be half as durable as the stainless ones...How durable will the CF's be?
