yeah i'm driving a 91 oldsmobile mini van at the moment so pretty much the worst thing i have ever driven. It did get me to the alps a lot this winter but its time to get back behind the wheel of a real car.

chrisbeltre 05-24-2012 12:25 PM

No kidding dude. So, are you a border or skier? back to car topics, I just ordered the ARK HFC's will be shipping tomorrow, those are pretty nice. I'll put some pictures when they are installed.

pwrhsms 05-25-2012 04:20 AM

Board all the way. No two planking over here. haha.

HFC's are tempting, not sure I wanna up the decible rating that much...

chrisbeltre 05-26-2012 04:32 PM

Parts

So finally pulled the trigger and everything that I want for the car. Ordered the HFC's, Stillen headers, gen 3 CAI, 19 row oil cooler, BC Coils, front and rear under brace. Nurburgring, here I come. Good call on the no planking bro.

pwrhsms 05-31-2012 05:00 AM

Nice upgrade list. I get my car from the port tomorrow! This weekend is gonna be good. Then next week I get to put on all my new gear.

Corona370z 05-31-2012 07:02 AM

That's good to hear. Hope all goes well during inspection and works well. One thing I encounter when I got mine is that it went into limp mode, not going past 2500 RPM on any gear. Quick solution is reseting the car by unplugging the battery for about 15-20 minutes. Have fun. Oh and advice to anyone else reading, if there is issue with your car and want to take it in to Nissan because it's under warranty see if you can do it yourself (if you're comfortable doing it) first. It's been over a month and my car is still there...I don't think I'll be taking it to Nissan in Germany anymore.

Boys, let's talk about a meet. Summer is here, I need to get away from the farmlands.

What farmlands are you stuck in?

chrisbeltre 06-07-2012 06:04 AM

Vilseck.

pwrhsms 06-10-2012 05:54 AM

I'm in Illesheim till next week and then I get Afghanistan

chrisbeltre 06-10-2012 04:17 PM

I have a friend that deployed from them as well. Also, there's a guy stationed there with a twin charged 350. Guy is rocking a supercharger up front and a turbo in the back. His name is Aaron and he's running with a crew call Adrenaline Lifestyle. I believe majority of them are in the Stan. Good luck to you bro.

Corona370z 06-18-2012 03:06 AM

So I finally got my car bacak and now I am going shopping for it. Two months of no car and I'm going to install, Berk CATs, Z1 Oil Cooler, and some silicone hoses. I will also be getting a Brake upgrade from Z1, Tanabe Springs, and Eibach Sway bars...Next month I'm ordering new shoes for my car too.

Hockenhiem Ring is open on Sunday the 24th @ 1430-1600. 12 euro for 15 mins. Anyone???? I'll be out there, hope the weather holds up.

Corona370z 06-22-2012 03:20 AM

Sounds so tempting...depending on how I feel that morning from the night before I might just go.

ww77 06-22-2012 10:20 AM

There is also a giant outdoor go-cart track very close that will be open afterwards. German go-cart are fast...

ww77 06-26-2012 11:42 PM

Signed up for track time at Hockenhiem July 5th anyone???

school-of-racing.de

chrisbeltre 07-08-2012 03:38 PM

How was Hockenhiem? My crew and a Subie crew are heading to the Nuburgring 28-29 Jul. If anyone is going to make it post it here and I will shoot you a PM with my cell. Drive safe everyone.

ww77 07-09-2012 11:14 AM

Hockenhiem was alot of fun. Tore up my street tires, things would have been a world of difference with race tires. Temps were mid 80's and with my 19 row oil cooler i stayed around a 250 oil temp. I've got the Z1 brake upgrade kit and it worked fine, I could have run deeper into the corners if I wanted. I ended up doing 3 20 mins sessions. No issues, ran with full tank of gas since I had fuel starvation problems in the past with only 1/4 before, after hard right corners.
I take you and the other guys will be riding the Nordschleife. Have fun out there be safe, it's nuts. A few days after your done Google Nurbergring pictures and there will be web sites where you can find pics of yourself on the track. The GP portion of that track will be open on 24, 25, 26 and 31st of July. It's 40E for 20 min run or 75 for 2- 20min sessions. Times are 18-2000. Check the web site. I won't be able to make it heading to Italy for 3 weeks. I am planning on a track day out in Austria at the Salzburg-Ring on 12 Aug. Trying to ride as many tracks before I get sent back to the states.

Corona370z 07-17-2012 01:57 AM

So there's this base Car show happening here in Spang on the 3 and 4th of August. I was thinking of taking my car in. They will also have a free dyno set up here too. Not the greatest from what I've seen, it was here last year, but it's free. I believe Ramstein will hosting one too but I am unsure of their dates. Just throwing it out there if any of you are interested.

Wow, that is a nice looking car.

Since the Germans make such spectacular sports cars, is there much snobbery directed toward drivers of Japanese sports cars?

We Americans make our own gifts to car enthusiast world, like this fine combination of automotive genius wrapped up in fine art:

An automotive metaphor for my country.

There are more German Z owners than you think. Car is well received here and gathers a bit of attention being not an everyday sight. Great club in Switzerland as well!
