After CSC Replacement
 

Hey guys!

I just recently had my CSC fail in me so had it replaced with ZSpeed's HD CSC as well as a new CMC with RBF600. I don't know if my foot just got used to the feel of the clutch pedal under a failing CSC but feeling of the clutch pedal after the install feels not as stiff as it used to be. The engagement point is back to its really high up position which is good as before it was on the ground and I had to pull the pedal up with my foot. And the pressure is nice nowhere near as soft as when it was dying. I'm just curious if your pedal felt different after installing the HD CSC or swapping out the fluid... Thanks guys

There may still be some air trapped in the system. You may need to re-bleed. I never had the Zspeed csc paired up with the stock clutch, so I couldn't tell you how it feels. I do know that with the HD csc and Southbend clutch, the pedal didn't feel as stiff as when it was stock.

It depends on piston volume if the z speed has a larger piston it will be softer

U would want to talk to zspeed and ask them it has a hydraulic piston in it and if that piston is larger than the one in the oem csc then the mastercylinder will have more mechanical advantage to actuate the clutch (the pedal will be softer)

Edit: icydk the zspeed unit is just a saab 9_5 csc with a custom bracket and lines, see they just pull the input shaft seal out.

Did you not go with a stronger clutch?

I also never mated the HD CSC to the stock clutch but made the switch with the turbo install. The new clutch pressure plate is good for 500+trq and I can say for sure the pedal is much stiffer.

there are 4things that effect clutch stiffness, pressure plate spring force, csc piston size, cmc piston size, and clutch pedal leverage. something like the rjm can allow you to change the clutch pedals leverage to stiffen or soften the clutch, other than that it comes to how much force the pressure plate takes to open and how big the master and slave cylinders are.

Yea, I'm pretty sure the HD csc does have a bigger piston. I had a Southbend stage 2 clutch and JWT clutch, and with the Zspeed slave the pedal wasn't as stiff as when I was completely stock. Not that it was anything wrong with that.
