This is kinda silly no? It will be a little oil starved for a very little amount of time. How do you suppose you are going to get the pistons and internals all oiled up? I'd like to know what your plan is for that. Cars sit for long periods of time and I've never really heard this being much of an issue. I would turn on the electrical system without turning the motor a few times to get your gas pump flowing too.

Is this for real?WOW!

The oil still remains on the engine parts long enough to keep the engine parts surface area lubed without damage on initial start. The scenario you have created in your mind is just not realistic. Maybe after a YEAR in high heat or so this might happen but even then the 'engine parts' would not have oil on them for a fraction of a second.

If it makes you feel better throw a quarter quart in just to feel safe.

There is a little bit of a dry start but the 5w30 will flow to the parts quickly. I wouldn't worry about it. Even if you changed the oil, it wouldn't touch enough parts. Think about how small the oil fill is. Once the oil is poured in, it will just touch the top of one of the cam lobes then, drain down to the pan, where the oil is currently.

I would not add any oil to an already full engine. Overfilling the engine could ruin it.
