Does the 370 have something to prevent siphoning? I need to take 5 gallons out to get below 1/4 tank for a car show. Tried a siphon and it was like there was something stopping the tube from going down far enough.

All new cars do IIRC.

But yes most modern cars have an anti siphon mechanism from what I have heard.

Damn it! Maybe I'll try to find one.

Or just drive the car for a bit? Should be easy with those spinning things attached to your pipes.

you can run a fuel line into a bucket and prime the pump over and over

I tried siphoning from the filler neck with 1/4 in airline but only was able to get about a gallon out. i was about 2/3 full and after a few minutes i couldn't keep the suction going.. I'd get like 2ft of line in the filler neck and it would stop.. kept getting air bubbles in the line so not sure what was going on..

So, I ended up pulling the fuse labeled "Meter" bottom left of the fuse panel in the drivers footwell. It blacked out the gas gauge and that whole side of the cluster. It takes out a few other things, the needles on the speedo and tach don't light up, and your turnsignals don't "tick" or display on the dash, but still work. Was enough to get me past the check-in point at the show.

Hey so I have had my 2019 370z sitting for the winter and I went to start it today and it started up no problem but had a rough idle. I checked for vacuum leaks and there was no obvious ones. I was doing some research and the last time I filled up with gas was back in October. And it's only been started a few times since. Is it possible that the gas is old? Gas goes bad after about 3-6 months and I'm going on 5 months now. Let me know what else it could be or if the gas could cause it and what I might have to do about that. Is SYPHONING possible in these cars?

Fuel from October should be fine. I store cars every winter for 4+ months, going on many years, along with many friends. Plus many project cars sit longer than that while people rebuild the engines etc. Having been around cars full time for 20 years, me personally, I have not yet seen anyone need to drain their tank due to the fuel going bad while the car was stored. Not saying it cant happen, but I have never heard of it in real life.

Alright that's what I was wondering but I checked and there was no misfire code and no vacuum leak. I am not sure what else it could be. Maybe clogged injectors? Or something along those lines?

Unlikely to have clogged injectors unless the mileage is very high. Id probably give it a little drive to see if it clears up. If not I would then begin a comprehensive diagnostics to determine the cause, starting with logging ECM parameters and looking for anything out of order.

Unless you are putting in really sketchy weird gas, there is NO problem with gas getting old, 100%. I always store my car for winter and I always fill it up to the brim, when I go start it after it's been sitting, my battery is dead, but the gas is fine. I boost the battery and the car starts immediately. You should look for the problem elsewhere.

I got a PO305 cylinder 5 misfire code spark plugs and coils seem like an unlikely culprit as it's been parked under no stressful load, any idea what could cause that misfire or is there a possibility something could've happened to the plugs and coils while sitting?
