OS Giken Touring Clutch
Anyone here have experience with this clutch? It's a newer version with either *SOFT* or *HARD* cover plate.
Thanks |
I have the grand touring twin what do you want to know, other than it is expensive but entirely awesome. I believe mine is a soft, I know I went for the aluminum cover vs. the stamped steel one. For abusing it it doesn't get better than an OS twin plate, less drivable than the stock single, but i can't comment on pedal feel since I have an aftermarket big bore master and a racing slave cylinder.

Hey 1slow370, I'm interested in the OS GT soft. I'm also interested in not having noise. How would you comment on the noise factor of that twin plate? I've herd they make the most noise.

Mine chatters sometimes at idle, but it is not super loud or annoying in my opinion. I do not know which one I have as it was already on the car when I bought it. Love the clutch though!

Mine chatters a bit with the clutch in, but my old jwt used to do that too. i have just gotten used to coasting and sitting in neutral with the clutch out now so i don't have to hear it. again i'm not the best to ask about noise though as I have full poly mounts on my car as well

Does the touring clutch have any added features to reduce noise over the standard osg twin? If not... A regular guy would say it sounds broken. Someone who knows what it is would just say it's annoying. Personally I hate the noise but it is what it is. Peddle down and you have the twin disk rattle/chatter. Peddle up and you get the cement mixer trans noise. Fast cars often sound broken!

i dont get the pedal up cement mixer, at least not as loud as when i had the aluminum flywheel on there.
|
How did it improve throttle response? I imagine the wheel fly must be lighter then OEM.
