Vacation - Disconnect Battery?
hey guys, im leaving the country to a couple weeks and wondering ill have any issues starting the car when i return. should i disconnect the battery, or will it be fine the way it is after two weeks? thanks in advance!

I'd go ahead and get a battery tender but it should be OK for that short amount of time - assuming your battery is in good shape. Not a good idea to disconnect the battery on modern cars but it's not the end of the world, either.

However, like mentioned, I would invest in a $20 battery tender. I just got back from a 3 week vacation and didn't touch the car for almost 4 weeks. Car started up just fine once I removed the battery tender. |
Battery Tender. (Float charger not a trickle charger)

ah, thanks guys. i guess i should've asked this question earlier, as i leave in just a few hours. anyway, ill take my chances and leave the car as is, but make sure to purchase a tender upon my return. thank God for forums like this!

removing the negative cable never hurts but only if its in your garage, and leave the window down just a crack so it doesn't get caught on the doorframe

You don't need to do anything. If your car doesn't start after two weeks you either have a weak battery that needs replacing or an alternator that's not charging your battery properly or a combination of the two.

Even if you said 2 MONTHS it would have been fine.

Dude I leave my car for 8 weeks and above and nothing happens... That issue is history now.

I travel for months at a time. If you have a good battery. It will be fine, but I would get a tender especially if you live where it's hot. It will extend the life of your battery
