I bought my from Todd as well but is no longer at Vivid. The install was done by my local shop and shims were adjusted by the mechanic. The cruise control works perfectly. The to remember if you are tuned ecutek is, that ecutek functions are disabled when cruise control and or vdc are enabled.

Don't mean to bring this thread back from the dead, but I can't seem to find a very specific answer of what you need for a swap.

I am going from a Base Open diff to a Sport VLSD. I'm swapping out the entire pumpkin. What else is needed? I got new bushings. It looks like a direct replacement.

Really? My cruise and VDC still work regardless which map I'm running.

I don't recall offhand but there are certain swaps where you need one side stub axle and some where both are required, there's where none are. Don't recall which is which I'll try and look it up and see if I can find ind it. Need that refresher myself anyways since I'll have a new LSD going in my base soon too

If you have the complete pumpkin (stub shafts & all) i'm pretty sure you just bolt it in,,,though i would R&R rear crossmember bushing & you say you have the bushings.
Also,Think about an up-graded rear cover w/higher capacity from Z1 Motorsports.
Ver Nice piece.
Also,,,if you phone them-they could give you a definite answer about compatibility.
I'm thinking where people are having issues;is when the try to swap internal parts from a normally open base diff/to a diff from a manual....as myself chose to install the Quaife Helical Locker in mine-designed for the base & retaining my 3.357:1 gearing.
Hope this helps,as the 2 speed sensor's are located on the rear cover & read off of the toner ring's on the stub shaft's...therefore speedo will be accurate & abs, cruise, etc.. will work properly. Z1's# (770)838-7777

Yep, replaced the bushings with Whiteline bushings and went ahead and replaced the sway bar with a whiteline sway bar as well. Love the upgrade so far. Thanks for the clarification. It bolted right in without any issues.

The reason I came here is because my 6th gear cruise control does not engage. I was wondering if I was missing a part or something that would cause that to happen, or if I needed to do a relearn of some sort. I am tuned with UpRev.

You are correct they will work regardless of what map you are using however if you have them enabled the ecutek function may not work.

I have been considering the Tomei Technical Trax and noticed it missing here when i discovered this thread,

Tomei Technical Trax

Tomei Technical Trax PRO Kit

pro kit comes with 3.9 gears.
Any input from people more knowledgeable than myself on this LSD? Any reviews or horror stories?
It looked like the better of the units I looked at, even though it seems very wallet friendly.

When i clicked on the hyper-link & seen Z1 Motorsport's,,,you're good;as they will stand behind their products.
Very Good People! Just let them know your driving style & they can match you up w/the one that will work best.

@Own3d, What are you trying to fix with a stock VLSD? It probably won't fix it... Put a real LSD in there if your already going in that deep.

If you are asking probably not, it depends on what you are doing with it. If you track your car, you can heat up the fluid and the vlsd will feel like an open diff, if it's just street use, you should be fine.

Skip it and get a Wavetrac, Quaife, OS Giken, etc. The stock VLSD is not very good.

I have a Wavetrac in my NISMO and yes, it is a significant upgrade even for street use. Generally traction is all around improved and since I DD in the winter, it feels like I have 300% better traction in the rain and snow. It really tames the VDC.

It is a top 5 mod IMO.
