"Limp mode like issue"

While driving normally today, out of the blue the car felt like it went into limp mode. When the gas is applied, the rpm would not rev and no response, I had to step on the gas a couple times wot to keep up with traffic (50mph). The whole time the car was running rough and the rpm would spike and bog when the gas is applied. I pulled over restarted the car and tested out the gas again, same result, it does not move the rpm and rev.
I took it to the Nissan dealer, on the way there (5 miles) I had to constantly mash the gas to get the car going 45mph and it was bogging a bit too. Sometimes the rpm would spike to 6k and jerk the car. When I took it to the dealer, magically the car revs and drives normal. Wtf??
I am very confused what just happened. Anyone else experienced this?

Temp outside 85
Car temp gauge 210-220
No engine light

Just had oil changed 3 days ago.

Are there any pending codes stored in the ecu? Oil level is normal?

Maybe a plugged cat?

It has 43000 miles only owner. Never had mechanical issue. All fluid levels are normal when checked at dealer

Plugged cat?

Even if there's no CEL lit up, the ecu can sometimes have a pending code stored in there. That might help you get pointed in the right direction. Any strange noises?

The car runs like a champ for the past 3 years with no irregular noises.

Should I take it back to dealer or discount auto or autozone can diagnose for free?

Autozone usually lets you use their scanner for free.

I had the same issue, but I have mods. I had it tuned(UPrev) and it hasn't come back.
