Need input on oil cooler plumbing

So I was looking at using quick connect fittings at the oil cooler when I finally get one.

Something similar to this:

I'd be going with a 34 row cooler. Even thinking about disconnecting the oil cooler and "short circuiting" the oil lines for those rare winter drives.

Any thoughts?

Easier and cheaper just using a block off plate. Less to go wrong too.

Really not worth using the quick connect couplers. Just block off the cooler.

Unless you plan on removing/replacing the cooler often, I'd say a quick-disconnect is just something else to go wrong. But, with a high-quality connector that is designed for that service, it shouldn't be that big of a risk.

What about getting a male to male AN fitting to recirculate. I have one that I did that with.

But block off plate FTW,

Hell, use painter's tape
