Thought I would share. I love these covoshields for protection of ur wiring and misc.

ConvoShield

I love this website they are super friendly and fast shipping. Heres what I did with the covoshield so far. Not done with the strut bar I have 3 more steps to go including polish. Also installing many new items this week and next to finish out the engine bay look.

Interesting....I'd like to try these out to protect wires and stuff near my turbo/downpipe and other hot parts. I'm using DEI reflect-a-gold to wrap my pipes....I could use this for like MAF wires, fuel lines, etc I guess.

i love the polished strut bar, but the wire protectors look kinda cheapy.

I went nuts with the Thermotec version of that stuff on previous cars. I'll probably do the same on the Z at some point. Thanks for the link, it's a lot cheaper than the Thermotec.

What sizes did you get and did you take off the existing black looms or did you just cover over it with new?

Good question! I took off the 1st one I did then realized what if I sell the car and go back to complete stock so I out a black loom back on that one then did all the rest by going over the black. I baught all the sizes they offer bacause u will need a lot of each size. Most common ones to buy are the 5/8 and 3/4

(Fuct) I fealt the same way u did and I did a sample order and when I got them I was very surprised at the quality and durability. They have a very nice luster to them also not cheep like they were just thinly plated

It looks a lot nicer then the stock ones. As far as functionality I think some cotton cloth electrical tape would be more effective and cheaper. Aluminium is a conductor not an insulator (like the stock plastic), so I think it would just evenly spread a point of heat contact along the length of your cable. If it were me I would tape it up then cover it for the clean look.

I did tape all the wires before putting the covo on but looks like its safer than u think when talking about being a conducter:

What loom ties did you use to hold some of the ConvoShields in place? This is one of my fav engine bays. :tup:

They actually held without the use of any ties although I did use stainless steel polished zip ties in place of the oem clips I had to snip to get the covoshield on. Thank u for the complement I have put many many hours in on this bay polishing it up. Had to take the cf cover off to send it back to nrg didnt fit. They are being very difficult about the while deal. Heres a pic of the new intake shields I made (just the covering) and started polishing the main engine itself

Have the new polished overflow tank coming from LCR and the 2 jdm covers coming all this week.
