Too "Springy" clutch pedal

I was test driving a 2009 370z yesterday and really love the car. However the clutch pedal feels extremely springy and it is almost like an "on" or "off" switch. The engagement is too springy and sudden and i would imagine if stopped on a slope, there is no way to "ride the clutch" (I know this is not recommended but just to illustrate my point).

Is this typical of all the 370z or just this particular car? I would imagine that there are some room to adjust the clutch pedal ?

Thanks again for all your insight. I hope to go back and purchase the car soon.

There is an assist spring on the clutch pedal that alot of people have removed to help with the clutch feel. I've removed mine and it feels alot better. There is a thread on here about it. ;)

Use the hand brake to assist with engaging the clutch on steep hills.

When "clutch" is the question: RJM clutch pedal is the answer.

Our clutches tend to be that way to start, but other questions arise. How many miles does the car have on it? Did you check your clutch fluid?
All or some of these can contribute to what you are stating.

There are some ways (as mentioned above) to change the feel but you can get used to it. Took me three weeks and yes, several incline stalls with asshats almost mounting my rear end.

Issues with clutch pedal feel on a 370Z?

Never heard of it.

wow so I have to set aside $$$$$ for Clutch pedal, clutch master & slaves and oil cooler. So, figured about $2k on top of the price of the car huh. :/

Read this on the clutch pedal.

You might not need a clutch and everything that goes with it, unless it's slipping and/or the CSC is bad. The oil cooler is a good investment.

Being that it looks like you're coming from a Honda, yes the clutch feel is different.

No you don't have to pay the $2k more. Like others have said remove stock spring, or replace with the lighter clutch helper spring-costs like $20. For $250 you can go RJM pedal. These simple mods will give your clutch a better feel and should not affect the master or csc.

Every car can have issues with the master or csc, it's not exclusive to the Nissan 370Z.
