Cash in hand for manual version as well.

It would be awesome if it could use the system that shows what gear the car is in (how when its in neutral, it shows the N on the dash) to be the determining factor of if the car will start or not

I am going to look into the manual version but it is going to require a different solution so more research, development and testing. The firmware that I use for GTR and auto 370z does not support manual transmissions. A lot of it is risk mitigation, because you generally want at least one backup sensor. If the switch that reports Neutral failed then you still wouldn't want the car to start in gear. As an individual you could just forget about the safeguards, but no vendor or installer is going to take those risks.

remote start and manual is an accident waiting to happen. make sure people are signing liability waivers!

i've personally known people/have seen people on forums who had remote start on a manual, and either ran their car into their garage wall or into another car because they had the car parked in gear.

I had one on my manual before with a kill switch. But I had it uninstalled...I didnt feel comfortable with it anymore. Wish I had it installed the first time with just the car only starting in neutral ONLY no other gears.

yes that'd be smart. manual + remote start should go:

if gear = neutral, start. elseif gear ≠ neutral, DIEEEE

Ordered the kit a week ago, just got the kit. Neatly boxed and wrapped. I am writing this post after install.

Attachment 72411

Comes with 6 pages of color instructions. Take off two pieces of trim, unplug 2 electrical connectors, reconnect, ground, program unit and done. Comes with a hood pin disable switch and toggle switch. I chose to use the toggle switch for easier install.

Install took a total of 40 mins for me because I was in no rush. Cleaned up my car a little and took my time.

For those installing it here are some tips/notes:

- May want to change your key fob lock button to silent ( honks gets annoying)

- ECM electrical connectors are very tight and there is little room to pull the green plug out. There is a small tab behind the plug you need to push while pulling. Wiggling a little while pulling helps.

- Very little tools needed; 10mm socket, small flathead to help with pulling up plugs and drill if you decide to hard mount the toggle switch disabler.

Always wanted remote start but didn't want to change out remotes. This was a plug n play item that if I chose to remove later would very simple. Great product.
