i've personally known people/have seen people on forums who had remote start on a manual, and either ran their car into their garage wall or into another car because they had the car parked in gear.

I had one on my manual before with a kill switch. But I had it uninstalled...I didnt feel comfortable with it anymore. Wish I had it installed the first time with just the car only starting in neutral ONLY no other gears.

yes that'd be smart. manual + remote start should go:

if gear = neutral, start. elseif gear ≠ neutral, DIEEEE

Ordered the kit a week ago, just got the kit. Neatly boxed and wrapped. I am writing this post after install.

Attachment 72411

Comes with 6 pages of color instructions. Take off two pieces of trim, unplug 2 electrical connectors, reconnect, ground, program unit and done. Comes with a hood pin disable switch and toggle switch. I chose to use the toggle switch for easier install.

Install took a total of 40 mins for me because I was in no rush. Cleaned up my car a little and took my time.

For those installing it here are some tips/notes:

- May want to change your key fob lock button to silent ( honks gets annoying)

- ECM electrical connectors are very tight and there is little room to pull the green plug out. There is a small tab behind the plug you need to push while pulling. Wiggling a little while pulling helps.

- Very little tools needed; 10mm socket, small flathead to help with pulling up plugs and drill if you decide to hard mount the toggle switch disabler.

Always wanted remote start but didn't want to change out remotes. This was a plug n play item that if I chose to remove later would very simple. Great product.

In for manual with kill.

370Z JT 07-04-2013 10:21 AM

I have this kit along with the dealer installed KARR alarm unit. Just curious, on the first click of the lock button, does it set off your alarm? I have a feeling that my alarm and this kit doesn't play nice together.

A workaround that I have found to prevent the alarm from going off is to click unlock prior, to clicking lock 3X.

Any progress for manual car. So excited for this.

I've checked and the G37 appears to be the same as the FX when 90% is identical but there is one minor difference on the start button circuit. There are two potiental solutions currently:
1) A slightly modified 370z/GTR kit which would require one wiretap
2) Created another harness to also make that one connection Plug and Play.

option 2 would require me to source another connector and would probably add $30-40 to the cost but we are investigation.

Option 1 we could do now if anyone is interested.

The remote start is nice but how about the folding mirror module O_O

Actually the 2008 Coupe is closer to the 2009 370z and GTR. For that I would just need to move a few wires around but pretty close. If you are interested drop me a PM or email with email address and shipping zipcode and I can send you a paypal invoice. The price would be the same as the 370z ($299 + shipping).

Good News: Auto kits now available on our website

Bad News: Doesn't look like manual version will be made available any time soon.

jec404 11-18-2013 07:44 PM

Does the rear defrost come on with this or do you still have to manually turn it on?

Nissanboy 11-19-2013 08:17 PM

Also in for a manual version..

BlkNismo 11-22-2013 10:20 PM

Some one go on the website and give them a call.

Nut_N_Much 12-01-2013 02:53 PM

Hey dude,
Went to the site to order, it said not in stock.. Sent you an email, to let you know you have some business available here. PM when your ready to sell some of these!:tiphat:

bdl99 12-02-2013 02:35 PM

Update:

Sorry for the lack of responses, I used to get a notification when someone responded, but haven't seen any recently so I need to check my settings.

But nothing has really changed since this post on August 6th
http://www.the370z.com/engine-drivet...ml#post2435373

The Auto kits has been available on and off ever since then, and for example there were two in stock on Sunday night (now currently 0). The kits are extremely time consuming to make so they tend to sell almost as soon as they become available.

On the Manual kits, I would never say never, but we don't foresee offering a kit in the foreseeable future.

Mr_Cann 12-02-2013 03:17 PM

Definitely be interested in manual version if you guys do decided to make one

how about 2007 G35x (sedan)?

redline10000 12-03-2013 06:21 PM

Why nothing for the manual cars ? I had the compustar with a neutral safety switch on my 350z 6spd and it was safe. Viper also makes a brain that takes the neutral safety switch.

BlkNismo 12-05-2013 03:12 AM

what a shame.....appears to be a large interest in manual version...this sucks.
none the less, good to finally see an update for some closure.

RICAN 12-05-2013 04:17 AM

Yes thanks for the update and for killing my dream lol

UnReal 12-18-2013 12:03 PM

Is it possible to have another key to start the car rather then 3x lock key?

Long press (2-3 sec) on the lock would be nice :)

BlkNismo 02-16-2014 07:43 PM

Is this still in the works for manual?

Unfortunately No change from what I said in December:
"On the Manual kits, I would never say never, but we don't foresee offering a kit in the foreseeable future"

NOBLE|370Z 02-17-2014 12:20 AM

Typically for a manual set up for any remote starter the brain needs to see the handbrake is activated before attempting to start. That way if it's in gear and it starts it won't run over someone.

Perhaps just using the automatic version with a relay will make it work safe and properly for manual capability.
