Limp Mode

Good Afternoon guys,

I own a 2009 370z. Anyways, i was driving my car to my friends house (2 miles away). I downshifted and the car juttered. I pulled over on the side of the road, turned off the car and turned on the car. I realized that it took another 2-3 seconds the turn on and it was sputtering. I was driving and also realized that the car wouldn't go past 3.5k rpm and the needle would bounce back like i was redlining. Turned the car around and started heading home until I heard a huge beep. I stopped the car once again turned it on and VOILA. Everything was back to normal. Anyone have experience with this? Should i take it to Nissan? I think oil temps were fine since i let the car cold start for about 3 minutes until the rpm's dropped. Driving the speed limit and was taking the car easy. I have less than 35k on the motor. Thanks for the advice and have a good night.

Let me guess, you misshifted down?

Correction. You misshifted down, and your car is ok. It does that

Nope i downshifted correctly. Then i put it in neutral. First gear at 3.5k rpm and bounced off. Then tried second and same thing. It might have been in limp mode but idk.

Lol, ok. Misshifting causes the problem you described
Do you have a tune? Is it possible that you somehow changed to valet mode?
