Is this good dyno numbers?

370z, 7 spd AT. It's all stock except Berk CBE. 1 run in 4th, 2 runs in 5th, I'm only considering the 2 in 5th gear. The mean of my dyno numbers is
298.0 WHP
254.2 TQ

It was after morning rain, 52 degrees.

I didn't do a dyno run before adding the exhaust to compare it to, unfortunately. It was on a Dynojet dynamometer.

After it was done I thought that looks pretty good. I said to the technician, after I add my HFC and K&N typhoon intake I should be over 300 for sure right? He kind of shrugged and was like... mmmm maaayyybeee.... I'm wondering, its only 2 whp to go.... If I'm not going to get 2whp out of the new mods, why bother? WTH? Also, getting it tuned right after I add those extra bolt ons should help right?

DEpointfive0 03-23-2013 10:25 PM

You'll be over 300
The K&Ns aren't the best bang for the money though.

About the tune... Read the 600 threads that say if it's worth it or not, LOL!!!

looks about right, idk about being much over 300hp with typhoons.. you should look into the stillen G3s, they give the best results.. and a tune does help but i wouldn't recommend it unless you do all your bolt-ons first.. otherwise it might be a waste of time and money if you keep adding bolt-ons after you had just tuned the car.

:iagree: Stillen G3's FTW, and if you're going to get a tune, ONLY do it once you're done modding

Sure, why not?:ugh2:

StrokeThis347 03-27-2013 11:03 PM

Well it's on a dynojet so high.

XwChriswX 03-27-2013 11:33 PM

Just so you know, there are other CAI's to look at aside from the GIII's

Akuma
AAM
Takeda
AEM
Injen

Fwiw, I hit 308whp 255wtq with just berk exhaust and g3 after tune at specialty z. You should get over 300 but there is no guarantee how "your" car will react to the mods.

chrischhorn 04-14-2013 05:51 PM

Everyone so caught up on HP.....I like my torque quite honestly :tiphat: K&N's do give better torque then the g3's but either one will get you over 300. hell the drop jns would probably get you over 300.

NickTurnon 04-14-2013 07:12 PM

The drop ins are 1/5th the price of the Stillen G3's and yield relatively the same gains.

I just dyno'd my 7AT thats mostly stock two days ago and i pullled 256whp/222tq on a mustang dyno.

I'd feel pretty confident about your numbers! Much higher then mine

Baer383 04-14-2013 07:20 PM

Getting a tune or not after mods is like saying should I have dessert after I eat.:p

Jordo! 04-14-2013 07:53 PM

Yes, what correction factor?

Spare the motor, keep the dyno runs in 4th.

You want to dyno in a 1:1 gear so 5th.

I would also be curious if they even used a correction factor.

tnoble123 04-22-2013 01:30 AM

Thanks everyone. I'm kind of new to this. I'm not sure what the correction factor is. After I get my final mods on (HFCs) I'm getting it tuned. Hopefully Saturday. I'll also get another dyno run at that time. I'll ask about the correction factor. Apparently Berk's HFCs are on back order or something, so it's all waiting now...
