CSF radiator install, NEED HELP!!!

Was putting in my new CSF radiator today and ran into a problem.

When I went to top retainers back in I found that the pins on the radiator don't line up with the holes anymore.

The question for the people with these radiators is what has to get trimmed? Do I just open up the holes for the retainers or do I have to do some trimming on the fan shroud?

You have to trim the radiator shroud on the inside so the CSF can go all the way back to put the locks on.

I had to do this on both of mine.

I didn't have to do anything. But the trimming wouldn't surprise me. It's modding 101.

Mine had to be trimmed as well. Just one of those things.

so the manufacturer didn't make it fit from the factory? You have to cut it to fit?

Yes. Trimmed the fan shroud and then it fit.

I do agree though that CSF should have just offset the mounting pins so that trimming wouldn't be necessary.

Yeah........what he said! I expected some minor issues with the CSF Radiator, but I will be doing a review in the near future (since mine had to be replaced)

Bringing this thread back from the dea, but can someone help me understand exactly what part of the radiator fan shroud I need to trim? I trimmed up some parts near the bottom core support but im still getting a fitment issue. I cant see exactly where its hitting that I would need to trim but it is definitely hitting something.

IIRC the trimming was along each side of the shroud. It was essentially trim a little then test fit and then trim some more until it actually fit. I used a dremel with the flex shaft attachment for the trimming.

Google "Project Nissan 370Z - Keeping it cool with a CSF radiator" and there should be an article near the top of the search. In that article there are pictures of where and what to trim.

I think the pictures are on page 4 of the article.

I'll check that out. Thanks for the leads guys!
