please help im leaking fuel =[
 

hey everyone i need a lil help.... well long story short, i was tired and just wanted to finish. i was doing a wire tuck on my z..... i needed to loop the main harness that runs across the block reverse. I needed a little more slack on the harness so i needed to loop it under a hose, heres where the stupidity kicked in Without even checking what the hell this thing was connected too prior to unbolting it, i guessed it was not a fuel line, boy was i wrong, it was a fuel line... :shakes head: i gave it a tug and it would not come off... i gave it a little more tug and it popped off leaking gasoline inside my engine bay... i freaked out and shoved it in as fast as i could and re tightened the bolts.... i started my z and its leaking like hell in the joint.... how can i reseal it?

also when i try to remove it how do i prevent the gasoline from coming outa the line? it just kept coming out :( any help would be much appreciated....

If you unbolt the fuel line there is an o-ring that sits on the end that goes into the rail. You probably pinched it when you shoved it back in. Check it to make sure you didnt damage it, lube it up with WD-40 and work it back in.

As for the gushing fuel coming out when you take off the line, either let the car sit for a while or open up the gas cap prior to removal. Always put a rag underneath the line as you're removing it to catch any residual fuel in the line.

If you pull the fuel pump fuse while the engine is running it will suck all the fuel out of the lines for you. Then you can unplug this with very little fuel coming out at you.

I have had mine apart to do my injectors.

what happens if i did damage it? crap that sucks.... thanks for your help btw man

Just go to a autoparts source and find o ring of the same size, there is nothing fancy about it.
