looking for some whp.. long tubes or downpipes

I already have the invidia gemini exhaust and the K&N intake what should be my next step??

Long tube headers or downpipe?

elperuano 12-20-2012 08:16 PM

I think you mean testpipes instead of downpipe.
U could go HFC or TP... After that ur pretty much set for real power gains. Pulleys but that takes away rotational mass and in theory supposed to "free" up ponies. Headers but its pretty expensive. Cams but that's also expensive. Osiris tune to bring it all together.

Does long tube headers replace the cats? Can I install headers and HFC at the same time?

Headers are not usually the best in terms of Cost vs HP gain, but if cost isn't a concern, then your options are Fast Intentions or PPE for LTH's.

Other (cheaper, easier to install) options would be Test Pipes or HFC's.

As said above ^^ a tune will be the best benefit to make the ECU work with the mods instead of against them.

or contact z1 motorsports and get the setup which so far has the highest N/A horsepower. :p

What he said. Research and decide ur goals n then go from there. If u go all out NA you'll spend close to what an FI kit costs so you just gotta decide what's your power goals.

You mean wait for them to start selling their version of the momentum headers.

That's nice, but personally it doesn't work for me considering using parts meant for another platform. Even if they are reverse engineerable. But that's not to say Z1 isn't an excellent parts/service shop. I'd go back for sure.

Just not the setup for me. :tiphat:

Yes, the LTH's will replace the OEM shorty header and the Stock Cats that test pipes would replace.

Considering it was that part + all the rest of his parts that netted his numbers, Not that part by itself, I think thats a little overzealous claim. :tiphat:

Well let's see, I think I would have noticed if it had been a thread "Only 1 mod and 342 rwhp, dyno proven!" Cause I would have it myself.

But he has an exhaust, intakes, the headers yes, and a (not your average) tune... aside from any other mods I may not know about. So it's not like he went stock on the dyno, then put the headers on and magically gained a metric fuck ton of WHP. :icon17:

Just saying, if he and or others want them that's fine, but saying they're the single greatest mod you can buy is a bit presumptuous... :ugh2:
