battery gauge

Hey guys,
Was just curious about something. I bought my car on March 2011. It is now August 2012 and my battery gauge has not dropped in levels. It hovers around 14-16 all the time. I assume over time, the battery levels would decrease? :excited:

Batteries usually last several years. But the more important note is that after driving your car, the voltage will probably always read 11-12 or so. Even if a battery has low charge capacity, the inital voltage will be near normal levels, unless the battery is really on it's last legs, where it wont hold a charge at all. Same goes for voltage during driving - the alternator is constantly charging the battery to full.

My last car had a battery that lasted 4.5 years. ^^

Oh ic. I was thinking along those lines where the battery would charge while driving. Thanks for your input :tiphat:

Must be nice. Out here you're lucky if it makes it to two years with this Summer heat.
