370z clutch sound HELP
Hey everyone, if you guys could take some time and help me out here. i've been noticing that when ever i am in 1st going about 5-10mph, when i depress the clutch, occasionally it makes a loud knocking noise. The closest sound that resembles would be if i took a heavy metal spoon and knocked it around in a pot a few times. It doesn't sound too good at all.
Also, when am in neutral and at idle, there's a burrrrrr rattle sound, but when i depress the clutch the sound goes away. I've read on a few post stating that this is normal, but am not sure about the loud knocking noise. Clutch fluid is fine. Car has ~10,700 miles on it already. Had it for a little more than a year now. |
both normal... G37s do it to
|
I have it too, Its normal
|
oh ok, thanks. I wouldn't have thought the knocking sounds were normal though.

shift technique issue..
I think you need to let up on gas as you're disengaging clutch, 1rst especially needs this whether slow and coasting -such as when approaching 90 deg. turn into driveway- or in hurry to go up a gear.

I made some post like this and someone said it was my driving.
I thought he was full of it.... But over time I stopped making that noise, only frm time to time. It really is how you drive. How long have you had the car? |
I do let off the gas when i do depress the clutch. If i depress the clutch quickly, it makes the noise, but if i press it slowly, it doesnt make it.
I probably is the way i drive. I've had the car for a little over a year now. I was use to driving an 1983 dodge pickup. The clutch is a bit different. But I've look up some post and i've read to let off easier and all that, its starting to work out i guess. |
