2nd gear issue

Is it my z or just me but when im punching it and then throwing it into 2nd gear and sometime 3rd, there is a delay in power. Im used to my old 200hp lancer ralliart so am i just shifting wrong for this 332hp car. maybe im letting off the clutch too fast. Anyone having the same problem or did have the same problem when they got there z.
