Rev limiter? WOT restriction?

I'm getting an uprev tune next week. I want to ask them to increase the rev limiter as well. How high can I go safely??

Also I saw on the uprev site that it can also remove the limits on wide open throttle. Do we have this on the 370?

I had my limit raised to 8200. But really, who's going there?

No true power gains after redline... risk of engine failure for no added benefit.

I agree, mostly. On my dyno plot there was a noticable up-turn in H.P. after 7800. But the test ended there. My tuner also noticed it and asked me if I wanted to see where it would go at revs above 8k.

Long story short... I didn't have the balls for it. :ugh2:

A friend of mine raised his redline and the engine started to knock 6 months later. He was hell bent on getting it fixed under warranty as he though it wasn't because of what he had did. He took all the mods off his car and took it to the dealer and the engine was replaced under warranty. Personally I think it was because he raised the redline and I think it was crappy of him to not take responsibility for it.

So, is it really worth it??

Definitely need a lot of breather mods to make power that high. Stock exhaust and intakes will clamp any gains.

I'll rephrase... in my instance there was no notable gain after redline and I have everything but an intake manifold and headers.

I wouldnt raise your redline, just keep in in the powerband and rock n roll.

I wouldnt raise your redline, just keep in in the powerband and rock n roll. 7500rpm is plenty for a long stroke V6.

Intake Manifold will most likely lower any potential gains up top based on information available. Headers on the other hand will most definitely help.

No plans to do either... the $$$ per HP is just too high.

Thanks for the replies. I will not touch the redline lol. As for the WOT restriction, I assume we don't have that on the 370?

Where are you getting tuned at? There isn't a wot restriction as bad as the 350z's or titans, but it's still there. You can increase responsiveness by manipulating the throttle control tables in Osiris, but not all shops do it

Dont forget fan control !
