Amsoil transmission oil, disappinting

When I bought my 09 new, my car had a huge clunking issue with the tranny. Last year I decided to change the transmission oil with the Amsoil fluid. I have to say 99% of the clunks were gone after the change. Now 4000 miles and 6 months later, the clunk is back harder than ever. I guess it is time to swap it again. While I don't mind changing my fluid after each season, yet 4000 miles range seems to be too little given the fluid are rated for a long long time. Buyer beware!

Why blame the fluid though? you already had a clunk, so sounds like a mech issue

Clunk was gone when fresh fluids were put in, now the fluid is older and it is not doing its job anymore...

I just tried Amsoil in my S2000. So far I'm loving it. Only have 1k miles on it though.

as said in any other thread about clunking trans's... modify your driving style. after driving MANY manuals i can say that, when driven correctly, this one can be as smooth as any other (save for porsche, bmw, etc..)

:iagree: but even before redline... OEM! Instead of just changing the oil, you should have had it checked.

How? Not shift at all? The transmission clunks when the car was new, it stopped when new Amsoil were put in. Now I have a few thousand miles on it and it is clunking again. I am not sure what else I can do short of skipping 2nd gear or not shifting?

I have a better chance of seeing god than have Nissan replace a transmission for me due to the grind/clunk/bearing noise
