Does anyone know what is going on with my z?
Hello everyone, recently I found there is something wrong with my car I think I need your help.
When I wait for the traffic, the RPM is not stable, it is moving, it should stay around 600 or 700. I don't know. But it seems the car will turn off by itselfs when it is jump down to 500 and jump back to normal. Hard to describe, but yea, I think that is what I want to say. Anyone same happend? My Mod is G3 intake, Berk HFC, FI cat back. Didn't Uprev it. ( Should I do this to fix the problem)? I am in Australia, no one knows about Uprev... Sad...:shakes head: Thanks |
Did the problem happen out of no where or did it happen after a mod?

Regardless what your problem is... You're rolling the dice running intake/exhaust/hfc without a tune.

I'd bank on an exhaust leak between the headers and HFC causing the O2 sensors to freak out.
OP, any codes thrown? |

Any codes or warnings?
Check your MAF Quote:

Could be ECU overcompensating for an intermittent vacuum leak. Check all intake connections. If all looks good, you can spray some carb cleaner around the hoses while car is running. If the idle changes, you found your leak.

I could see vacuum leak too. With VVEL, the throttle valves really only exist to regulate idle and vacuum. If your vacuum kept dropping out the ECU can do a lot with this intake system to get it back up...

Tunning should solve your issue , I had same rpm issue when I added 3g intake and the exhuast, after I did tune no more issues.

The easiest/ first thing you could do is check all the connections on your G3 Intake tubing. Whoever installed may not have tightened them up properly. If they are not sealed you will get symptoms like what you are describing, and EVENTUALLY you will thorw a code. (I know form experience).
Hope it's an easy fix |
+1 Vaccuum leak... check the idle air control valve (assuming we have one). That could cause it to flux/stall. We might not have one though since we have an eletronic throttle.

Either an intake leak or vacuum leak. Check all connections on the intake, then check vac lines. It could be an exhaust leak between the 02 sensors as well.
