Extrude Honing

Has anyone ever used Extrude Honing (Abrasive Flow Machining) to increase the flow of intake & exhaust elements of their builds? I have used it in the past 20+ years ago on my '91 Syclone & '89 Saleen Mustang single turbo build. I used both Extrude Honing & high temp ceramic coatings (back then it was called Jet Hot coating when they were still affiliated with NASA) with pretty good success on both builds. I see that Ceramic coating of parts is still going strong and was just curious about Extrude Honing.

I would post some links with info on Extrude Honing but I don't want to give the impression that I am supporting or advertising for specific vendors. Just use google if you are interested in the process.

I know some S30, S130, and z31 guys who did this with intake manifold and turbo exhaust manifolds. As I recall since there weren't a lot of options for aftermarket intake and exhaust manifolds extrude honing was a good option. However if I remember correctly it's also pricey. Haven't seen anyone mention extrude honing in several years.

I don't think you can extrudehone plastic- see Z intake manny. Also, last I checked w/extrudehone, ~2009, on doing a DSM intake manifold (four runners, made of Aluminum) it was about $600. Only worth it for a track $$$,$$$ car IMO.
