Axelsc1 02-15-2012 07:55 PM

I am very worried

drain it and refill with 5W30 as mentioned by few members this am on your other oil thread that was locked by the moderators..

I saw this online the kinematic viscosity
AMSOIL 0W30 is 57.3 cST @ 40 °C, & 11.3 cST @ 100 °C
AMSOIL 5W30 is 59.5 cST @ 40 °C, & 11.7 cST @ 100 °C
AMSOIL 10W30 is 66.1 cST @ 40 °C, & 11.7 cST @ 100 °C

They are all VERY close to each other, so it shouldn't do anything. Shouldn't be too far off on the castrol maybe..

considering your engine is well broken-in based on your milage im sure it can take it, but since he made the mistake have him replace it with 5W30. otherwise it could affect your warranty if something happens.

You're fine. It just means that it tends to be a bit thinner when cold, which means if anything it will flow more easily before the car is warmed up, potentially reducing wear at start up.

the Castrol Syntec 0w-30 is probably the BEST oil you can run in the VQ...I'd keep it

I would not be to worried . Its just a little thinner thats all. GL

Agreed. I've been running Castrol Syntec 0w-30 european formula on my twin turbo for over 20k miles. IT is the best oil for our cars.

thanks to all

Based on next oil analysis, I may be going back to that from Redline -- but yeah, very good oil.

On that note, I recommend 4K OCI's for this motor based on mine and others UOA results.
