GT Motorsports: GTM Rear Differential Cooler Kit

We would like to introduce our new differential oil cooler kit for the Nissan 370Z. Heat is the main factor contributing to oil breakdown, and can lead to premature failure of your limited slip differential under extreme conditions. Traditionally a finned differential cover would be used but they usually only provide marginal improvements in cooling.

For the serious enthusiasts we have designed and developed a heavy duty differential oil cooler kit that will meet and go beyond your expectations. We know this modification isn't for everyone, but for the people that do need (serious road racing/drag/drift) we have it for you! This will also help extend the service life of your gear oil since it won't be getting as hot under extreme conditions.

We will have the basic cooler available as a standalone, with our aluminum shroud as an option. This shroud will help force air directly at the cooler, significantly increasing its performance, it also acts as a mounting bracket.

Another option will be a programmable temperature activated control unit which will control the pump to only come on once the desired temperature as been reached. This will increase pump life and avoid having the pump on when not needed.

Nicely done! Love see'n quality parts!

P.S. I spy an exhaust! Looks good!

tbss370z 05-19-2009 09:25 PM

Nice product! How much? And by the way is the exhaust also available?

LiquidZ 05-19-2009 10:02 PM

I'm sorry GTM, but I'm much more interested in that exhaust!!!

Just kidding. The unit looks awesome.

Slidefox 05-19-2009 10:13 PM

Looks like a good product!!

wstar 05-19-2009 10:36 PM

Nice stuff GTM :)

Can you comment on the weight of the base kit, the shroud, and the controller? Also, given where it rests, any ground clearance issue vs stock?, and do you expect we might see fitment issues with common aftermarket exhausts?

smartbomb 05-20-2009 01:54 AM

Great product!

RCZ 05-22-2009 02:00 PM

Will this fit with the stock exhaust?

I will get a wieght for you as soon as we have the opportunity.

The cooler is not the lowest point by far, so there will not be any clearance issues.

This should clear any aftermarket exhaust that has angled canisters on the sides. Besides you could always mount it somewhere else and make a custom bracket.

Not in this location but it can be placed somewhere else, usually the people that would be purchasing this product have modified their exhaust.

that exhaust looks great...Im assuming that Z is their TT mule with the diff cooler and 3" piping and all (at least looks 3" to me):bowrofl:

...yummy

travisjb 03-15-2010 09:27 PM

Hey Sam,

Is there any panel mounted switch or driver interaction required once this kit is setup or does it just trip off the temperature with no switch in the cockpit?

Also, can I specify custom hose lengths? I have a different mounting location in mind. And I won't need the shroud.

Thanks,
Travis

Zsteve 03-15-2010 09:44 PM

Man I think the Z is going to be the car with the most coolers.

LateralG'z 03-15-2010 09:50 PM

Adding to my parts list now! Another fun part to add to the car to help make it better, I love this stuff

XwChriswX 03-15-2010 09:53 PM

Will this change the amount of fluid you'll need to add in after the install to get the air out? Or will that not matter?

This wouldnt be necessary for someone's DD that hits the strip or a track every so often correct?

Chris@FsP 03-15-2010 09:57 PM

Looks great! I foresee one of these going on the shop car very soon

travisjb 03-15-2010 10:00 PM

Chris, correct. If you have an aftermarket diff and you track frequently, this sort of thing will payback over the long-term. And it will give you more certainty that your diff is protected from overheating... For folks that do enduros / track their car often or in very high temps (AZ summers), it's a good investment. Otherwise, if I were only doing occasional track days, I'd take the risk of not having one... you can get a new diff for about the price of a kit like this FYI

does anyone know if this kit will work with the Fast Intentions CBE configuration?

Get out of my mind. You've been reading it again, or my brain waves are that strong. Been thinking about getting this kit too. Making some changes to it, as I want to mount it in the rear bumper. Cutting out a section of it. ;)

I don't think so, it takes up a lot of real estate under there.

The one I'm making is mounted way further back. Spend less ($800-900), make your own.

Here's mine just crudely mounted up. I still have to buy some aluminium and make a scoop and mines a 24 row, not a 12 row. The nipples coming through the trunk will 90* forward into the pump and other side with a hose that will then both 90* back down though the floor and into the diff.
