I had the same problem with my R2C intakes. The company supplied really flimsy hump couplers. Solved that with some really nice and sturdy hump couplerd from Z1 Motorsports. They are longer and far more studier than the couplers supplied with some kits.

I imagine it's possible but not with just 300 miles unless there were a lot of abrasives like a sandstorm type condition. Remember it wasn't that large an air leak. I think they are suggesting long term abuse.

I just got Check Engine Light too...s***...lol I think I got it because of the HFC. I prob have to reset ECU soon

to the guy with "major scoring" complaints dirtbikes and atv's have been raced with no filters for a long time and while it does kill the motor eventually (unless it blows from the power) they go through a HELL of a lot more dust than he did. if he's really worried about it he could have it compression tested and have them check the cylinders with a bore scope when they pull the plugs. I say don't worry about it put it back together, reset the ecu, and if god hates u and u have to bring it in DON'T mention it to the service advisor.
