I got mine from joe@zspeedperformance, he said he had 3 left when I orded mine and just had a shipment of 20 come in that week, he told me whiteline is having major issues keeping these in circulation.

So I noticed my bushing is blown this weekend. Im gonna be taking it to Nissan tomorrow but im not feeling confident that its gonna be covered under warranty. Has anyone had theirs replaced under warranty successfully?

They will have to do the whole subframe... And it will just blow again

Fully aware it could blow again, I will eventually replace it with something better, but for the moment Im just hoping to get it fixed by Nissan so I can drive to work.

I had the Whiteline KDT911 kit fitted to my Z34 yesterday as the OEM PoS rear diff bush had burst and leaked silicone all over the diff cover.

It is like night and day - axle hop all but cured, and no noticeable increase in NVH.

Whiteline were dubious about NVH as the 370Z rear diff bush is slightly smaller diameter than the 350Z (which is the KDT911 part), but since they won't start research on the Z34 bush until Jan 14, I was not in a piosition to wait.

Getting the bush out requires making an extractor tool (which can be used to fit the new bush along with a healthy dollop of lube).

KDT911 was getting hard to find here in Oz, but found a kit at a local parts distrubtor in the end. Seems like lots of US parts distributors are out of stock as well.

Well Nissan wouldnt do it under warranty, and im NOT spending $1660 for a replacement that will break again. SO I ordered the Whiteline bushings from Z1 tonight, hopefully its OK to drive my Z until it gets here and I can spend a weekend swapping it out.

On that note, anyone have a DIY?

Take out diff, enter air hammer. Other methods from the 350 is building a puller... I had to use a press for the front ones.

From what ive seen - drill hole in rubber, sawzall through metal outer of bushing - remove

Id just take it somewhere but I imagine it would be quite expensive.

That's pretty much it, you can look on 350z.com for that DIY, it'll be near darn it the same.

I think you will have to wait a bit like me bro,i order a Full Differential Upgrade Kit on Sep 19 and i am still waiting on that order :shakes head:.This damn Whiteline bushings are pretty much out of stock everywhere like some had mention.

the front bushings just need a big like i think it was 28mm impact socket and a hammer. harbor frieght has what you need for 15 dollars, or any auto parts store they carry these individual sockets for doing axles.

besides wheel hop, what are the other tattle tale signs of this bushing goin bad? Yesterday I was headed up to palmdale with the wife and we had the interior vent on with no a/c. After climbing up 2500ft and going through a bunch of small hills on the road I noticed what smelt like gear oil. I pulled the car over to the side of the hwy and noticed that I had black streaks across the diff. It didn't look like diff fluid. I checked the diff and trans to see if anything had leaked out and nothing....just looked the same as the picture on pg 1 of this discussion. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

that would be the silicone oil in the bushing congratulations you need to pull your diff and replace it i see your in riverside do you have an air compressor at home?

Can someone help me out. I recently replaced the bushings on my 08 G sedan. Put everything back together and tightened the axle flange bolts, however there's no way I can get my torque wrench in there, so my question is, how are you guys torquing down those bolts?

Need to use a 3/8 torquewrench and do one bolt at a time turning the half shaft. Red loctite and goodntight with a long 14mm wrench works too

Unless your talking engine, I think tq specs are over rated, never use them my entire life, just common sense and do not over tighten stuff and ruin threads and nuts. Good old bicep torque wrench hasn't failed me yet. Flame away.

If the torque specification is above 140 ft/lbs, I use the bicep and rectum muscle indicator .... you strain with bicep until you fart and that is tight enough.

For < 140 ft/lbs, bicep alone is sufficient.

from a more technical aspect, if there is something to hold the fastener lick a lock nut or washer, or threadlocker, i don't care as much, if it's non critical like fender bolts, i don't care as much. If i'm getting paid to do something though i torque everything.

Used a 3/8th torque wrench and a friend with a regular wrench/spanner. I think we either used a wobbly socket or a UJ.
