Automatic Trannys...

I have a 2010 370z in automatic and every once in a while when I put it from park to drive it gives a good clunk. Has anyone else had this problem? I am thinking of taking it to the dealership to have them check it out, but I wanted to check on here first and see if anyone else has had this problem?

Its your cars soul telling you you should have got a manual... Each time you feel that "clunk" its pissed at you and wants to know what it would have been like to be a true sports car!!!

I think All R.W.D. cars with A/T should have a bit of sound, even in Lexus when changing from P to R or to D,or D to R or P...due to freeplay in the drivetrain..normal.

I had that problem too when I bought the car. To fix it and not hear the clunk make sure when you park your car to follow these steps.

Starting from D or R, shift into N, apply e-brake, make sure e-brake is actually working and the car is not rolling, then shift into P.

Next time you start your car and put it in gear, there will be no clunk. This is because the e-brake is actually keeping your car still (from slightly moving forward or reverse) and there is no stress being put on the transmission when you put it in park.
