mike, your pads are wearing out, sucking down the fluid. when you replace the pads and reservoir goes back up. it will go away. do not just fill it now as you will overflow when new pads are put in

How to put the video??

Do you think it is the rear brake pads causing this? I can't see how my rears are worn down that much, but I will check them. They were fine this spring....

If the pads are fine but the fluid is low, should I just top up a bit?

cossie1600 10-14-2011 03:33 PM

i doubt it as i think the 370 eats front pads quicker. . how many miles do you have on your car. i am suspecting brake fluid because mike said he got the random parking brake light, which is another hint that your fluids are getting low. when the brake fluid is low, vdc and slip light will both light up.

you can fill the fluid, but you have to worry about fluid popping out when you change pads later. maybe add a little more.

I only have 17,000 km's on the car, and I just replaced brake lines and fluid this spring. I may have underfilled so I will check that first. Thanks!

Does the light (wheel spin light) stay on?

mike0983 10-14-2011 03:56 PM

ok cossie1600, maybe you are right for the pads, because i did 4 complete days of tracking with them.
I just came back from another track a few hours ago, and i have to admit that when i brake i can ear an strident noise coming from my pads, espacially when i got home:-).

The thing is that more i was running on track more often the parking brake light were coming, so maybe you are right...

i will see...

still searching how to share video:-)

Yes, after several random parking brake light, the lights (wheel spin light and VDC) stay on until i restart the car

wheee! 10-14-2011 04:10 PM

and yes, mine is the same except no parking brake light issues (yet)

That is abnormal and you should take it to the dealer. The Brake warning light should not be coming on at all in those conditions.

In case I missed it. If the VDC light comes on when you have turned it off, the VDC is not off 100%. I believe it shuts it off to about 90% leaving 10% still active. But this usually happens when the car is pushed hard.

My brake reserviour is exactelly between Maximum and minimum, i Will Try to fill it at the Max, but i don't think it's that

cossie1600 10-15-2011 01:53 AM

don't overfill it as the next time you change pads you will have a huge mess.
