Should I get the oil pan spacer

I'm ordering my oil cooler today and i wanted to know if i should also get the oil pan spacer? I dont track my car every week, but i do like to drive hard.
I also catch races her and there on my way home from work. Do you recomend getting both? or is the cooler by it self ok?

What size oil cooler did you order?
With no track time an oil cooler should be plenty.

What is your recommendation with track time as a weekend warrior?

I would say the 30+ row oil cooler is a solid upgrade for tracking, also look at the Greddy oil pan which adds an extra quart of oil without lowering the oil pan.

Just installed a 25 row and it keeps me so far at no more than 180... I would give that a shot as it is probably enough for most people. The oil pan/spacer IMO is a waste of money at this point. It will keep you cooler slightly by adding more oil but you already have the cooler (which holds another qt of oil already btw).

With the spacer you risk cracking it because it decreases the ground clearance.

I have a brand new JWT oil pan spacer if you're interested :)

It does lower the pan, but it will not be the lowest point of the vehicle. Plus we have a steel oil pan, which when they inpact something typically they bend and dont crack.

My advice would be if you install an oil cooler and your engine oil temperature is already in check then I would not install an oil pan spacer as the extra quart of motor oil capacity will make your Z run cooler each set up is different. It really depends on how you use of your Z? I drive my Z hard sometimes and it sees severe duty street/strip/track so an oil pan spacer is essential for my set up. For street duty I doubt you will have clearance issues I never did but be careful. If you did hit something with your oil pan they are made of steel so they will bend. Most Z enthusiasts will recommend oil pan spacers for people how see strip/track/auto x events etc.
